moment of glory was deciding (with a few others as shooting decoys), to run ~100 metres un-armed (because I'm quicker that way) with 30 seconds left to cap the flag in the enemy base....making it and finishing with a swan dive I thanked the trees that covered my ass on that one.

I also got told off by the marshals for raising the flag on the enemy base too quick, apparently I shouldn't be able to leg it around the back within the first 20 seconds of the start on the "capture the fort" zone (which had an awesome wolfenstein logo on it). Rules are you can't raise the flag OR leave the fort within the first 2minutes, problem for the defenders (as I found out in the first round) is that once you are in the "flag" zone you can't be hit from within the fort, hence why I made a b-line for it.

I should point out I had help from friends providing a good chunk of covering fire and according to the opposition I'm "some sort of olympic runner or something...." idiots, just ex-county 200m champ ;)....10 years ago...damn I'm gonna feel it tomorrow.

Went to watch Thor with my girlfriend and several of our friends, after we all feasted at a Chinese place. Afterwards, we hung out at McDonalds, before going home. That's actually the only thing I've done, other than work on finals-related stuff, and watch Ren and Stimpy.

Went bug-hunting on Saturday and found the nationally scarce wolf spider, Alopecosa cuneata which was quite nifty. Sunday was spent eating tasty Indian food and meeting up with my girlfriend's family.

First race of the season yesterday. Freshly rebuilt top end on the motor. Qualified 3rd, stuck the piston ring to the piston in the 2nd heat. Had to tear the motor down, separate the ring, clean up the piston and honed the cylinder wall and had it back up and running in 35 minutes. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and I couldn't get the carb tuned in so in the feature race I just pulled off into the pits after 4 laps. Got a nice base tan going though, it was a beautiful day.

I tested for Tempe AZ PD on Saturday...now I get to hurry up and wait.
