When i am completely tickled by something and burst out into a wonderful, full body laugh session.

Those moments when, often for no discernible reason, i become so happy that i feel like theres a golden glow, a warmth, liquid light, inside me, and i am filled with compassion, empathy, magnanimity, and interest in everyone around me, moments that i refer to, in my personal lexicon, as gold.

When i have worked with children in the past and am rewarded by a smile or laugh.

When im listening to my favorite music, and the hedonic adaptation drops away, immersing me in the glory of it all.

Walking outside when its just the right temperature, maybe its sprinkling lightly, thunder is rolling and booming, and the wind is whipping about me, seeming to buoy me.

Kissing a pretty girl who is totally into me.

Holding a girl i care about in my arms, whether that means sitting on the floor or slow dancing together.

I know it is stupid to laugh about people dying, but the first summary from that website OSHA made me lose all hope in humanity:
"Worker was killed after a cigarette lighter used to check the level of a 55-gal. drum of flammable liquid ignited the liquid's vapor and exploded. Worker died from burns and blunt head trauma."
2011-05-13, 5:50 AM #8
Some of those scream negligence, some yell stupidity, and some are just unlucky as hell... I've seen a "thrown off railing by suspect" and "shot by robber" along with a few "idiot was smoking around flammable things".

Edit: "Worker died after receiving multiple bee stings while working outside an apartment building." Ergh...
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Come on, dont derail this by talking about that osha report! :/
2011-05-13, 6:02 AM #10
I'm really not sure to be honest. ...:(

Also on that OSHA site I just found one where a worker at a mental hospital went on her dinner break and was found dead on the grounds later on. A nutbar was taken into custody.

Edit: And someone that was run over by a steamroller. Ick.
nope.

Just thinking about the stuff I wouldn't be able to do without thumbs... I would have to kill myself if I didn't have thumbs
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Looking through the OSHA lists, I recognized the story of my coworker's aunt, who was attacked on the job. Crazy.

Actually, without thumbs, you couldnt kill yourself either. :P
2011-05-13, 12:37 PM #17
Because he couldn't jump off a bridge or something?
nope.
2011-05-13, 12:45 PM #18
i just loaded a snapcap and dry fired a rifle without using my thumbs... just in case there were no bridges, poisons, heavy traffic, dangerous animals, or any other obvious thumb free methods of offing oneself handy
eat right, exercise, die anyway

How is it impossible to commit suicide without thumbs?

I was trying to make a deeply profound joke, but that bombed. I also didnt think it was possible to fire a gun without thumbs, but seeing ive never held a gun in my life, what do i know? I thought of jumping, but i was picturing tall buildings that he couldnt get to the top of without using thumbs to turn doorknobs; bridges didnt occur to me.

So basically, i'm an idiot.

tall buildings with roof access most likely won't use the kind of door knobs that you need thumbs for... probably use handles and pushbars on the doors

also it should be possible to turn a round doorknob without the use of thumbs... thumbs just make it easier
eat right, exercise, die anyway
2011-05-13, 4:34 PM #25
Thumbs are awesome, yeah.

-It would certainly be difficult to kill yourself without them, though.
2011-05-13, 5:37 PM #26
No it would not.

!??!!?
2011-05-13, 7:16 PM #27
thinking about it... the only method of suicide i can think of that would not work without thumbs is hanging yourself

knots are difficult to work without thumbs
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Would be hard to throw your face down onto the ground ramming your thumbs through your eyes without thumbs.

Driving my car downtown listening to my favorite song.

Swimming for mussels and cooking them on the beach.

Umm, having sex with my girlfriend?
Got a permanent feather in my cap;
Got a stretch to my stride;
a stroll to my step;
