returns at wal-mart...

ok, my cousin accidentally got me the Two Towers soundtrack instead of the RotK one... no problem, she bought it at walmart! i'll just run over there and return it.

HA! not
i went to the walmart in Topeka (where I live) and they were out of the RotK soundtrack but they couldn't refund me the $15 because the cellophane (sp??) wrapping had come off... but the sticky label on the top-spine was still there!!!
the lady said those sticky labels have to be on 3 sides in order for them to refund me... GGRRR

but, it's alright... i was heading down to Bartlesville (Oklahoma) the next day and i could return it there... HA! not...
they were out of RotK soundtracks as well... but it took me 45 minutes to find this out!!!
so the next day (tuesday, yesterday) I went again because they said a shipment of CDs was coming in... well, we got the last copy available and it took a bit of looking to find.
so, another 45 minutes down the drain only to get the version with Denethor on the front (yuck! thank goodness Faramir is on the other side)

*sigh*
if the first lady had just given me the refund it would have all worked out MUCH more easily... there would have been no wasted 2 hours at walmart in Bartlesville...

ahh, oh well. the soundtrack was worth the wait and work ;D

Had the celophane not "mysteriously" come off all by itself you could have avoided the whole thing, too.

Wookie is right. Maybe you should have read the cover before taking it out, putting it in your cd player, listening to every track, and then wanting to return it...

Ummm, I thought he made it clear he didn't take it out of the case. After all, how could he have taken it out and put his grubby paws all over it if the tape-like label at the top was still on it.... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

I have a great urge to post the "Stop Whining" pic, but that would take too long, so you're lucky.

wow, i didn't know everyone else got to whine without being flamed but i have to take the flames.

no Ubuu, i'm NOT a moron like you so i did NOT open it on my own then try to return it.

i would guess that either the plastic was taped to the wrapping paper and ripped without me knowing it or it broke because it was weak or handled too much in the factory.

Some lady at Walmart gave me that kind of trouble about refunds too. I just told her, "I'm going to contact the corporate office and see about that."

She gave me the refund. :P
It works almost everywhere. :P

I've never had a problem returning things to Walmart, including a television that was a year past warranty. If someone tells you no, simply ask to speak to a manager. I work at Walmart and can tell you first hand that they're trained well in the art of *** -kissing.

Yeah I work in the Electronics Dept at my local Walmart (In Nova Scotia!), we do take back just about ANYTHING as long as it follows a few rules: its still wrapped in the original packaging, and that the entire case is still sealed. That way its guaranteed you didn't just buy the CD, pop it out the bottom, burn it and take it back for a refund.

However Mentat is right; if you ask for an assistant manager, they'll do just about anything to keep the customer happy. Just don't try to return opened games -- you'll get shutdown [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Is_907, I wasn't really flaming you if you took it that way. It just seems odd that the wrapping would come off a CD. And if I was the one purchasing it and I noticed the wrapping was in poor or missing condition I would have picked up a different one. I'm hoping that you already had the CD and that is why you spent so much time trying to exchange it. Otherwise, I probably would have just kept it and bought the other one if I wanted it so bad. That's just me, though

Walmart has the best return policy in the world. There ain't nothin' you can't get money back for if you ***** loud enough... well, except perhaps a telephone book in a dvd box... I don't know what that girl was thinking when she asked for a manager.
