The Game

The Game is a mental game where the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which, according to the rules of The Game, must be announced each time it occurs.

Rules of the game:

  • Everybody in the world who knows about The Game is playing The Game.
  • Whenever one thinks about The Game, one loses.
  • Losses must be announced to at least one person.
  • The Game ends when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom announces on television that "The Game is up."

This sounds worryingly like a one sided drinking game we used to play at uni which goes a little bit like this:

"Do you know the rules of The Game?"
"Yes"
"Drink!"

OR

"Do you know the rules of The Game?"
"No"
"Drink!"

It was mainly a way of getting Freshers batmobiled in the first week. Also allowed you to sort out the funny ones from the boring ones.

The game is possibly the most retarded thing to come out of the internet ever, and there's been quite a fews years since it first came up for something else to usurp it's mundane throne, but nothing has and people still seem to think they're hilarious every time they post "the game" on various websites.

Not that slow, it's only been around since 1977 (that's right, I googled it, but to be technical it's first appearance ONLINE is 2002)
