I know at least one person that thinks that the world "might" end in 2012. Of course this person also stock-piled for Y2K.

I hope all those morons will finally stop bringing this up the day after tomorrow...

...but I know they won't. It will have to have been a miscalculation, or a mistranslation.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I keep seeing this dumb crap in NYC. Even in advertisements.

Look, no one filed the appropriate paperwork for a planned apocalypse. Jesus ain't coming if he doesn't submit for the right permits AND the authorization for a mass migration of souls out of the city.

I keep forgetting you're around here :ninja:

They've had ads on the subway for a while now and saw some people on Lexington passing out flyers. I had someone approach me on 5th avenue to "save me from destruction." I told them that I'm pretty sure I'd be fine and that I had to catch a train. (Plus I've seen Raiders, just shut your eyes and don't be a nazi!)

How did this guy read the bible and get a date for when Jesus will return, when in the bible it says no one knows when jesus will return, only God. I mean this guy already said the world was going to end once in 1994.. Someone should just put a bullet in his head on saturday, then the world can end for him.

my favorite thing involving the rapture was a book that came out in 88' : '88 REASONS Why The Rapture Will be in 1988'
which was followed the next year by '89 Reasons Why the Rapture Will be in 1989'

There are some folks capitalizing on the rapture:
Quote:
— There's Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, USA, a business run by atheists which for $135 will take care of your dog or cat if you're among those believers who are whisked away on Saturday.

— And there's You've Been Left Behind, which for $14.95 will send e-mails or digitized documents you want delivered to friends or relatives in the event that you're not here after the Rapture.
"Flowers and a landscape were the only attractions here. And so, as there was no good reason for coming, nobody came."

Heheh. XD

Wouldn't want to be them May 22nd, though. What a headache dealing with all the people who want their money back.

These folks had a small march in the city proclaiming the Rapture.

If the Rapture is coming, why won't these believers get rid of all their material wealth? I'm open for accepting money, Jesus wouldn't need money, right? I'm guessing none of these people have jobs otherwise they wouldn't be wasting time doing stupid nonsense like this.

A lot of them are getting rid of their life savings... by spending it all on billboards to warn everyone else about the impending doom.

My vision of the Apocalypse would have some huge guy suddenly appearing in the sky, like a student overlooking his school science diorama, who says

"You guys had a good run. Could do with less war and processed foods. I give it. ...eh... 6 out of 10."

Then the world just ends.

Also I can't ever remember hearing about "the rapture" before in my life.

Yeah, it's a 90's band. So it's got that sound.

Failure is great. That isn't even their best song.

Check out the 'Comfort' album. But 'Magnified' and 'Fantastic Planet' are great too.

I hear the rapture's comin'
they say He'll be here soon
Right now there's demons crawling all around my room
they say He lives within us
they say for me He died
and now I hear His footsteps
