I help out plan and run Ignite Seattle, a 4-times a year event where speakers have 5 minutes on stage with 20 slides that autoadvance every 15 seconds. This time we had half the normal number of speakers, but surprised everyone with a rough screening of Star Wars: Uncut.

This guy Casey split A New Hope into 400-some 15 second segments, then people online "claimed them" and recreated the scene, then sent the video back. He and a few others then edited the entire thing back together, reworked the sound, and now have a full version of A New Hope made by fans.
It was really REALLY cool. I was worried it would be fun for 10 minutes then it would just get obnoxious, but I was pleasantly surprised it didn't! I think being in a theater watching Star Wars with 600 other geeks helped a bit, but it was something I definitely would have watched on my own.
If you ever get a chance to see it, definitely go for it!
