Y'all like rally videogames?

I have a gift copy of DIRT 2 to give out to someone on Steam.

If anyone wants it holla back, yo.

Rally is the best type of racing game in the history of videogames. Admittedly DIRT 2 was not as great as DIRT because of its copious amounts of blatantly non-rally content but it was still pretty cool. Especially because I could have Travis Pastrana as my co-driver and he would call me "boss." :awesome:

They tell me that DIRT 3 will have the most rally content ever so hopefully there will be less of that other **** and it will be the greatest rally game ever made. Although there'll probably be plenty of DRM **** to cock up everything! DIRT 2 has that, too. Codemasters suck. I wish they'd stop taking my money.

I thought it was a good, fun game. I have mixed feelings about codemasters physics at times but they get it mostly right. I played the **** out of F1 2010. I'm more of an asphalt racing fan so simbin > codemasters

I like asphalt but I prefer a more twitchy kind of racing, and I find asphalt racing can have some pretty bland tracks. I get the racing sim appeal but I like some corners, man. I only ever ended up racing on a few tracks in GRID over and over because a lot of them were just big, round circuits.

I loved it. I picked up a Logitech Driving Force GT wheel, and loved it even more.

Yeah I can't imagine trying to play this game without a wheel... It can be nearly impossible to control at times even if you have one.

I have my wheel set so that about 3/4 turn is full lock. Works well for me. It took me a long time to get good control of the cars. Left foot braking and throttle control are pretty key.

Oh for sure... it's just sometimes they get away from you pretty easily. I was having a ***** of a time with a rally cross race earlier. Sometimes the cars can be downright unpredictable, and the AI is brutal at times.

I played through DIRT with a PS1 controller. DIRT 2 with a 360 controller.

Constantly tapping the PS1 buttons to emulate analog acceleration and braking was pretty tough. If it was a particularly complex course that required a lot of finer speed adjustments I'd put the controller on my leg and use my thumb, index and middle finger to rapidly tap the buttons.
