Just watched House season finale..did it FINALLY jump the shark?

Love what they did with Taub...HATE what they did with House..

Did this show finally go too far? The medical mystery was meh, but they always are sub-interesting compared to the drama of the characters at the time.

How will next season, the last one..even be...Lisa Edelstein left the show, so Cuddy won't be there...will it even take place in the hospital? How will that work?

Anyone else nervous? Or am I the only one who stuck with this show to see it through?

I've been watching it off and on.

I saw the 2nd to last episode, which was just weird.

I read about what happened in the finale in a review, waiting for it to be available on hulu.

I think this show has been slowly jumping the shark for awhile.

I was kind of hoping for some more sensibility from House this episode, but perhaps if he's truly over Cuddy (something hinted at by the fact that he took a proper vacation) maybe that'll happen. I imagine the next season will introduce a replacement for Cuddy who doesn't follow House's ideals, and slowly drives him to quit/retire/get fired/arrested. And thus, the end of the show.

The shows always had some pretty amazing character development, I don't see how this is jumping the shark at all.

The Moving On episode? When he drove into the wall the first thing I wondered was how could he have been sure that he doesn't run over Lisa's daughter... Hmm. Yeah.

Personally, I watched the show on inertia after House ended up in the mental hospital. It just didn't seem interesting to me from that point (the point where he goes crazy, I mean, not when he's actually admitted).

Also, what next season? The show's over, isn't it? My impression was that Hugh Laurie decided to concentrate on his musical career instead.

It's signed on for a final 8th season. So perhaps he's done after that.

Haven't watched yet, but no. The exact shark-jumping moment was when Wilson bought his diabetic cat.

It jumped the shark when House and Cuddy did it.

Did not know that. In that case I have a vague hope that David Shore will return the show to what originally made it fun for the first 2 seasons (it wasn't Dr. Taub's ******* children, if anyone wonders). However, that would only really work with a brand new supporting cast, except perhaps for Robert Sean Leonard.

And the Wiki article on House M.D. loops on Telecommunication / Transmission instead of going to philosophy.

Also Cuddy is not going to be in Season 8, she was not willing to take a pay cut.

The second half of season 7 had some of the better episodes the show has had in a while. The episode before the season finale, especially, was fantastic. I'm not sure if I like or dislike the direction the show is going, but the writing and directing of the show, in addition to the acting, are still top notch for network drama.

I thought it was a stretch that he was in a mental hospital and was able to go back to practicing medicine. I can't really see how the **** they're going to pick up this story next season - I can't even begin to fathom the amount of criminal charges he'd face if caught, much less if he's allowed to practice medicine. With the flashforwards throughout the episode I thought it was building to something better rather than something so stupid it was practically comical.

If that was their way of writing Cuddy out of the show - it accomplished that goal, but a terrible job going about doing it.

I think they should have stopped at the end of season 3.

Or, at the very most, season 5.

Haven't watched anything past that, though. And not sure if I really want to.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

It was to spend more time with his daughter if I recall correctly, which is definately acceptable, he probably should have just left completely for season 8 instead of trying to make it work by him working part time. Season 8 is just so awkward. Some good episodes, some awful. The first few and the last few are definately keepers though.

Feels like it kind of petered out with this episode.

I really really really like her character and it's stupid that she won't be in the last season. I hope 17 dies, and I also hope Taub gets ****ed somehow in all of this because he's always been kind of a jerk, in my opinion.

I have always hated that I like this show. It isn't all good.
