How many of you plan to play this shining gem of a game and which side/class will you be?

I am planning to be a Jedi consular myself, not too sure on what saber style yet though.

Nope [http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/garosaon/smiley/fgrsad.png]

I've got so many games in the past 2 years and have played maybe 10% of them so I have to cut down a little bit. I would have even been able to reconsider my anti-MMO stance for SWTOR. But alas it was not meant to be!

I wonder if it's possible to play a Jedi and never, ever use your lightsaber.

I would if i had no life. I just don't understand how anybody that lives any sort of normal existence can justify the time required to get your money's worth from an mmorpg.

I'm here thinking that they should have just made KoTOR 3. It's been how many years of development now? They keep delaying it. I don't know, MMORPGs don't appear to be Bioware's forte from the looks of things.

It weird how the settings, coming from the games and the cinematic, don't feel like it comes before the Original Trilogy. I always imagined 1000 years before the movies, things would be more "primitive". Not really a complaint; it's just odd to me that the Original Trilogy looks to be "old times." Maybe 1000 years is nothing for civilizations in space.

Seems to me that I had read somewhere a long time ago in a place probably far, far away from where I am now that technology had actually slipped backwards in the several millennium since Tales of the Jedi era. I haven't paid a lot of attention to the EU for much of the last decade. Not sure if Tales of the Jedi and Old Republic eras are essentially the same or not.

I do recall reading that most of the manufacturing infrastructure was destroyed during the clone wars, which is why things are more high tech and newer in the prequels. In the OT they're supposedly using older crap.

Eagerly awaiting the release... Plan to be a smuggler on my first play through, and to keep a journal / website with the character's journal talking about his adventures. :P

I've actually been one of the closed beta testers for SWTOR. I beta tested one session back in December of last year and I'm currently beta testing in this next phase. The terms and conditions state that I am allowed to admit I am a tester but I cannot reveal anything about the actual testing.

That being said I can tell you it's a pretty fun game, though I find myself wondering if I'm really going to have the time to play the game when it comes out. I used to be a big MMO gamer, I played Star Wars Galaxies, Guild Wars, Lineage II, and Lord of the Rings Online - all which were fun while in high school and college. However, being in the real world and having a full-time job and other chores to take care of really doesn't spare a lot of time to be playing MMOs 20+ hours a week.

I used to be a huge PC gamer and swore off against consoles.. However, I find myself glued to my Xbox 360 whenever I find the time to play games much more often than my PC. Funny how things work out like that. :P
