So what's new, other then not being able to see what I'm typing in the post window.
Oh hey it's kinda fixed now, quick reply is still invisible though.
Note: I appreciate you keeping this site up CM.

yeah i totally can't read what i'm typing right now... edit window also has problem
eat right, exercise, die anyway

What browser? It isn't invisible here.

Also, the editor is the biggest change on this update. It now supports Chrome/Webkit fully (meaning advanced mode now works right), supports pasting text from Word with formatting, and autosaves posts/threads.

Firefox 4.0.
Edit is okay, Reply and quick reply are broke because it's white text on a white background.
The windows also have gray gradient borders and look out of place.

sdfsdgfdgsf

yeah, same problem here, even in advanced I can't see anything, unless I highlight the text.

Firefox 4.0.1,
Win7 x64

*edit works fine, as it becomes white text on black background, in the quick reply and reply it seems to be white text on white background. Oh, one more thing, when you click the "post" button in either edit or first reply, it does briefly go black text on white background for a few seconds.

*same problem in IE9 (x64)

Okay, I believe I've fixed it. It should be black now. I know the grey around it looks fugly, I'll work on that later.

Can't reproduce, your problem. FF4 and FF5 and IE9 and Chrome are all black background with white text.

Edit: Okay, NOW I see what you're talking about. You're not using the WYSIWYG editor. Click the icon in the upper left corner. I'll fix that later, but you should just use the WYSIWYG editor since it's about 50x better.

Okay cool, Make it default or something then because I bet most people here are like me and had no idea this thing existed or what it was.

ditto (fixed).

it defaulted to the non-WYSIWYG for me, switching editor works.

Damn, I figure it would be cool to try to enter text here with one of these:

Set it in your control panel. You changed it to non-WYSIWYG some point in the past, I've already forced everyone onto WYSIWYG once, I won't do it again unless I have to. :P

well I don't recall ever switching editors in my profile, but meh, done it and no more problems :)

I never intentionally changed editors. I've never seen this wysiwyg editor here. Still, if we're going to have an option to use source editor it should work.

HI I'M WOOKIE I DON'T READ POSTS IN THEIR ENTIRETY.

You changed editors because the default when registering is WYISWYG, and when we upgraded like 3 years ago I forced everyone onto it. FAIL.

In other news I'm just going to force it for everyone once more.

I never changed it though.

Maybe you don't remember doing it, like I don't (which is why I worded the statement that way after I read and understood his), but he's claiming that when Massassi was upgraded and we registered we would have had to change it. To be honest, the flurry of upgrades and changes as the site was expanded and revamped in so many awesome ways during that transitory time four years ago was pretty overwhelming. We could have easily missed changing an insignificant option to one which we might actually prefer.

It's called a workaround whilst the underlying issue gets fixed, which might actually be quite involved and require a bit of time. Would you rather that people were thrown on the white-on-white editor as you, Tibby and poley were? Or that their default was changed to something that wasn't broken?

I totally understand. I had no problem with his temporary solution. I only commented that I never intentionally changed editing style. I certainly don't remember doing so. I wouldn't say that it is impossible. I certainly don't think that should incite a responsible site owner to make a condescending remark to me so I made one back. Of course, always setting the standard for conduct on his site, he proceeds to inflame the confrontation.
