Site admin around?

Hey, it's Hideki. (That cog dood you all forgot about ages ago)

I just happen to come here like once a year and been feeling that my site Millennium is being ripped and shredded into pieces by random people with access to my files and if you can change the DNS of that domain to one of my hosting, then I can actually run that thing on my own without someone tampering to screw it up totally :XD:

What am I doing these days?
Generally, I became a web programmer (plus server admin) and living so, making my own company. :omg:(It's crappy design I know but it's under redesign.:v:)
I'm willing to create Mac apps soon enough as well for some quick good bucks.

When I think about it, my carrier all started from here... programming out of necessity to get the fun out of the game, then building web sites to show it off and learning server to maintain sites.

Hope you people are well.

I remember Hideki being able to spell.

The site wasn't really being ripped and shredded. It hasn't really been touched, except for a couple extremely minor fixes I made a couple years ago just to make the downloads area work again (since the whole site is extremely outdated).

I can redirect the subdomain towards you I guess, but I can also just give you access to the thing yourself on this server, if you'd rather do that.

Hey people.

Actually if you go hit a couple links on the site, some pages are simply removed ( http://millennium.massassi.net/links.phtml ) and some files are just being renamed for no reason... (Check out http://millennium.massassi.net/projects/ where it says index.phpold :omg:)

I can log into the server and just wipe out the files and salvage a few data files myself.

Can you send me the current log in info to h1d@mkst.jp ?
When it's all done, I'd like you to point the domain to 173.203.109.246.

Thanks.

Whoa! Hello there, Hideki! The man who told me the truth 'bout my nickname! And a great cogger at that as well! [http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/garosaon/smiley/smile.gif]

The links page wasn't removed (I never deleted anything, and no one else has access), but I did rename the index because it was much easier to provide access to the files via a directory listing than it was to try and fix such an old PHP file.

Edit: I looked and links.phtml is actually links.php

Edit2: Do you want your old nickname back? I can restore it for you if you've forgotten it, by merging this and the old account.

It wouldn't hurt to get the old account. I totally forgot what the password or the email associated with it is (In fact the email addy should be something I probably have no more access to.)

Don't know how it happened but 'Extra' page got header and footer file missing too, so I'd just relocate that to my place if you can change the DNS, so I can at least maintain that in the future. (Although I wonder if anyone makes any use of it these days) And can you mail me the current FTP login info?

And are admins from pre 2000 still around?
It's good to see known names from 10+ years ago ;)

After I quit playing JK, I played Homeworld2 quite alot since around 2003. Didn't really do any modding but played enough to make lil info site, joined a clan and was rated the 2nd best player by a dude lol... Has anyone played Homeworld 2 much?

I remember you. You made a lightstaff mod which practically changed my life

There are some people around from before 2000. I wasn't an admin back then, but Brian eventually felt like handing the server over (this is after he took it back from blujay) so I'm serving it up now.

Since all you want are the files, you want me to just zip it up for you? That way I wouldn't need to make an FTP up for you.

Edit: and if you didn't notice, your account is now all merged up.

Oh, so you're now the head of admin here? Is Brian still around? or any other people that I would remember? :XD:

"practically changed my life" - You're not the StarWars kid right? ;)

Thanks for the account merge.

Yeah, if you can zip it up and send it to me that would be awesome and you can just wipe the files clean and I'll set it up again on my server.
I do have my own backup of the site though, but I'll just have the files anyway, since I might've kept a few data on flat files.

Brian peeks his head in every once in a while. If I can find his contact info I'll poke him and point him to this thread. I'm sure he'd love to say hi after all these years!

Check your forum PM for the URL (in about 5 seconds, sending PM after this post).

Thanks Cool Matty. The site has moved to my hosting and all of the pages have recovered.

It was interesting to read up on stuff I wrote more than a decade ago...
Kinda remembered whatever enthusiasm I had back then.
