Jedi Knight: Your favorite game of all time?

It's amazing that the Massassi Temple is still up and running, it's a testament to how great a game Jedi Knight was and how involved people were with it. I'm wondering for you guys is it your favorite game of all time?

For me it takes the number one spot. I was just starting high school when it came out and the experience on the zone was second to none at the time. The gameplay of being able to wield your own lightsaber and choose the light or dark path was something that really set it apart and made it unique. It was magical playing as a Jedi or a Sith.

The gameplay was addicting, the force powers were cool, and the online community was the best I have seen in any game I've taken part of...it was the only game where I actually joined a "clan" lol. I was part of the Frontier Horizon clan as FH_Corran_Horn and it was an awesome time with an awesome game.

Everything together, the gameplay mechanics, story, and especially the multiplayer make it my favorite of all time. How about you guys?

Without a doubt! Yeah there were better games, sure. But for nostalgia sake it's my #1. Hence spending years making levels for it :)

Magrucko Daines and the Dark Youth (2010)
Magrucko Daines and the Vertical City (2016)

It was my favorite game for a long time, but currently other games vie for the top spot: Fable series, KotOR series, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout 3/New Vegas are variously my favorites, depending on my mood. I haven't played JK in probably close to a decade, and I never did do multiplayer.

I was originally a TACC'er, posting mostly on the Interactive Story Board there, and I learned of its sister site's ISB and had to check it out, discovering Shadows of Darkness and future friends and co-writers Geb, Krig the Viking, and The Last True Evil. I slowly migrated away from TACC as I got into SoD's sequel and occasionally the Neverending Story that Geb was always trying to recruit me for, and about the only thing I did on TACC's ISB after mourning the loss of A New Story was a Star Wars fan fic called "The Deridian War" with Cougar and Super C-3P0 (golly, I wonder what they're up to these days?), which dealt with issues touched on later in the prequels about whether systems have the right to secede from the Republic.

I'm rambling, so I'll stop now, having wandered from the topic.

If you read that whole thing, congratulations! Here's a cookie.

I don't know about favorite game of all time, but it's in my Top10. I'm not trying to say it was revolutionary, but it implemented a lot of brand new features very well. Hardware Accelerated 3D, TCP/IP, and Lobby based Matchmatching via Zone. Games played well even on slow dialup connections that were standard at the time.

And finally obviously I loved it for the hacking, I've never seen a game since that featured such a robust script language and such minimal anti-cheat protection.
My favorite JKDF2 h4x:
EAH XMAS v2
MANIPULATOR GUN
EAH SMOOTH SNIPER

Stalker takes the cake, but Jedi Knight has a special place in my heart.
E: Yeah about that, JK runs in 1080p just fine on a quad core 64 bit system with large amounts of RAM. How many other games from 1997 can do that? Not to mention the fact that the engine can support gigantic levels.
Reaaally wish Lucasarts did more with that engine instead of just bin it.

I expected a poll.

I'd have to say of all the games, my favorite is Age of Empires. That's what started it all for me.

I enjoyed Age of Empires too, but then I discovered Age of Mythology. So long, Empires!

Of course, now that I've gotten Age of Wonders (yes, I'm VERY late to the party), I may say adios to Mythology. :P

Edit: They still sell Empires. A couple years ago at Walmart, I bought a combo pack which included Age of Empires I and II plus expansions, AND Age of Mythology, for a grand total of $10 plus tax. That, my friend, is a helluva deal.

Well, it has most definitely been probably the most influential game for me, but I think Deus Ex would still be my number one favorite. That is, if I really had to rate them in that way.
