At least for the Xbox 360 it is. So go get it!

It's a limited time demo, probably because the game is still in heavy development. There's only one act to play, a Green Hill Zone remake using the classic play method (Sonic Generations will feature both a classic 2D play method and 3D Sonic Adventure style). The zone starts off very familiar, but quickly introduces new routes and scenery.
A. For those who played Sonic 4, no worries, the controls are much more like the original. You have momentum in the air again.
B. Jump dash attacks are not here, so it's traditional Sonic gameplay.
C. Traditional controls are implemented, but new controls are also added. The ability to spindash with one button is actually really nice. Just hold X, even if you're moving, and you'll stop and begin a spindash. Hold it to charge the spindash up. The end result of this is you spindash more often and thus are moving faster. Again, you don't HAVE to do this, the traditional method still works.
D. The physics have been altered slightly on the ground, to allow platforming to be a bit more forgiving. In general, the only thing I noticed was that Sonic will stop more quickly than he used to. I don't actually have a problem with this change.
E. The graphics are amazing.
F. The soundtrack featured a cleaned up version of the classic Green Hill Zone. I am careful not to call it a remix, because it sounds so much like the original song that it's essentially the same.
Frankly, if this is what I am to expect of the final game, I am very excited.
