Don't talk to me about Steam right now.

I'm having issues with Steam.

Pretty much everything electronic, in the past couple months.

But at the moment, Steam.

The Machine God hates me.

I hate Steam.

That is all.

I have heard a lot about the Hitman games. And now they are cheap. Which one should I get first? Would it be okay to start "out of order"?

The best ones are Silent Assassin and Blood Money. The first one is insanely hard, and feels extremely dated in comparison to the rest of the series. Contracts is basically a remake of the first one. They're all pretty worthwhile, and offer huge replay value. Once you decide to try to beat any of them with a silent assassin rating on the hardest difficulty, you'll find it to be an extremely difficult, but highly rewarding experience. I've never felt a greater sense of accomplishment (in a video game) than beating missions like that in Blood Money without firing a shot or directly harming anyone.

There isn't a single game I care about that is actually out yet.

Games I Care About:

Space Marine
Skyrim
Red Orchestra 2

Agreed with Skyrim, Also actually, Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I loved the first and I am playing the 2nd for the first time though it seems inferior but at least enjoyable so far

I gotta go, I had Old Country Buffet and now my body just can't cope

Yeah that's tempting... I never played Oblivion... but I'm not sure if I want to. I think I probably shouldn't pass up that deal, though.

Wow, and I just bought Max Payne + 2 for like 14.99 € a few days ago whereas now I could have got them as a part of the Rockstar Complete Pack for 13.38 €!

I'm a fan of Oblivion; it's definitely worth it. Actually, the fan-made total conversion mod for Oblivion - called Nehrim - is in my opinion even better than the original game. Quests are cleverer, everything is worth something, more varied environments, non-scaling enemies, etc. Only drawback is that the dialogue is in German, but it still has English subtitles. I'm playing the heck out of it.

Also waiting for Skyrim.

It is definately worth the 8 dollars, it is dumbed down compared to Morrowind, but there are plenty of good times to be had.

About 30 minutes left for anyone who wants to get Civilization V for about 10 bucks and using the retail keycode on Steam.

The Mac selection isn't so hot. L4D2 at about a tenner is good, but I won't be able to play often enough to make it worth even that.

Even if I really disliked every other Elder Scrolls game?
nope.
2011-07-02, 3:07 PM #30
Yes. Especially if you disliked the other ones. If you don't enjoy the one DLC for Oblivion you're insane. The main character is a lunatic Scottish guy who constantly threatens you with severe bodily harm in the most friendly ways.

There was some other DLC, but Shivering Isles was a full-on Expansion Pack, I'll admit, as opposed to the Knights of the Nine and the various houses and towers.

-And yes, if you hated Morrowind, you may very well love Oblivion. It's done in the style of a strictly classical fantasy setting, and in that genre it is head and shoulders above most. And it looks better on a PC than it does on the console, of course.

I liked Daggerfall, even though I didn't play that much of it.

And if you also liked it, well, there's always XL Engine.

Sheogorath is hilarious!

Anyone ever tried to attack him just for the heck of it? Do it, and watch what happens. It's awesome.

My friend bought me Arkham Asylum the other day for 20 bucks, it's great.

-I really like how you can just wander around the entire island and look in every nook and cranny and always find something interesting.
2011-07-05, 10:55 PM #39
I haven't bought anything so far. What's wrong with me.

Bioshock was 5 bucks.

Fallout:NV was 15 bucks.

Only thing worthwhile today for me is call of duty, but 10 bucks is too much for me :P
