Green beret or rotorcraft engine maintenance

Stop bugging him.
I think you should go REM, since it has the most lucrative future. You could be working on helicopters until retirement, or climb a career ladder starting there anyways, but how long does a green beret stay in action? I imagine it's on par with a professional athlete, given the physical and psychological punishment of being in the field. The armed forces are really good for supplying you with experience and training that you just cannot receive in the civilian life, and this might be the best opportunity to take advantage of that you'll ever get.

-On the other hand, I don't have what you'd call the heart of a warrior, I simply don't value the chance to be one of the best fighters on the planet on the same level as having extremely valuable and unique skills and training that will be of use in the civilian field pretty much the rest of your life. Maybe you do, and if you do then the Green Beret might be the better choice for you.

I definately need an epic physical push. One reason I'm having, trouble getting bigger than I once was (about 180 pounds) is,because I cant afford the diet or a gym membership.

You're not gonna get bigger doing that, man. Starvation is a big part of it.

You'll be waaaay more defined... but you're not gonna get any mass at all. Don't worry, though... it will ****ing kill your metabolism. You'll come back and gain like 40lbs in 2 weeks.

Why would you want to gain weight for special forces? Most of the Special Forces Soldiers I am acquainted with are built like me (though much more fit, decidedly) because you aren't carrying extra weight and burning extra calories at rest. I guess some people live by a different philosophy, but there is a reason I can outrun and outruck all of my Marines.

The only program you need is in this book. Diet is easy for Special Forces Soldiers, because you don't want to build a body that is dependent on things that you will not find in denied areas. This includes supplements and too much protein. That book goes over everything you need and gives you a solid plan to build the most important fitness aspect for the footsoldier: rucking.

So Rob, I'm not really sure about your situation, though I should probably know. You are active duty Army, have signed your contract and not gone in? Lots of people get sent back to their units, but I believe that going in on the contract SF program will get you sent to the 82nd or something similar. I am not a soldier and this is only second hand experience, but I believe it varies greatly on where you come from.
