I was thinking of asking for vibes beforehand, but I was too damn nervous to even think about it,

But my viva was today and it went well, about 3 1/2 hours, then the cheeky buggers kept me waiting 20minutes while emails flooded round the department notifying everyone but me that I had passed... with minor corrections, always the case....embrassed to say but my german and portuguese examinors were correcting my grammer :P)

I'm just waiting for my next plane flight where they ask if there is a doctor on board, I will damn well answer and offer my expertise at particle identification :D

I am pretty pissed at the moment, we cleared off 3, or was it 4, bottles of wine and then 4 pints in the pub and a bottle of champs at home and a chocolate cake :D....

jesh...I keep getting told i'm a Dr. now....**** if I can believe it.

I came to this site before I even had my A-Levels, I now have a degree and doctorate in Physics...crazy world.

Congratulations! I hope to make it there someday too! Do you plan on continuing being a research oriented Prof or are you just looking to be an instructor mainly?

Amazing, well done. And I was so proud of my masters until now - think you've had a slightly more productive 5 years than I have!

Also, I was just looking at my manager's CV, and he was a post-doctoral fellow here when he was 23. Bloody ridiculous.

I'd completely forgotten about that! Was chatting to my dad about it months ago. Ridiculous how long it takes to get things published
