As much as I disliked the idea of a reboot after only 10 years, I like the look of it. Mostly because of MARTIN ****ING SHEEN. :D

nope.

Wow I found that pretty unimpressive. I hope their isnt alot of that first person 'mirrors edge' style in the movie. After watching I was sorta hopeful that we might see Lizard as an 'enemy' but after checking the IMDB cast list, I'm guessing they are saving that for sequels.

Wasn't it already confirmed that The Lizard is in it?
nope.

Yeah I am pretty certain the the Lizard is the villain.

Meh. I'm not the biggest of Spider-Man fans. Looks interesting though. I'm a bigger fan of Gwen Stacy than Mary Jane, though, so I like that.

hmm... it looks like that first person scene was catered for 3D which is disappointing. i REALLY hope they redo venom at some point.

On another note, they for sure need a good eddie brock. They need carnage as well.

Also : I hate the new Peter Parker more than I hate the guy in the facebook movie... (not jesse eisenberg, hes the ****)

You realise they're the same person, right?
nope.

Sounds just like Toby. Looks kind of like the guy from Misfits. Glad Gwen is in it, Dunst soured me on Marijuana Watson. Is the spider radioactive or genetically enhanced? Seems like it would have to be genetics to make the movie gritty. No one believes giant radioactive lobsters killing bikinied teens anymore.

When does the 3D fad end... again?

Naww dude, I just happened to pick one of the seven things that Andrew Garfield has ever appeared in.

To get more to the point, his head and nose are huge. :colbert:

I don't want to see this new york jew spiderman, besmirching the name of a classic and beloved comic character. I mean, I still want him to be from new york, just not so stupid looking.

I don't think the trailer shows enough to really win me over. I'll still end up seeing it just because, so I'll wait until then to make any judgment.

This might be worth seeing.

I'm basing the above entirely on Tobey Maguire's absence.

I was personally more excited by the Dark Knight Rises teaser. The director Marc Webb did do a good job with 500 Days of Summer so I expect Gwen and Peter's relationship to be portrayed very well in this reboot. I'm sold on Andrew Garfield as Peter. He's a great actor judging by The Social Network, but he looks still much like a pretty boy to be a social outcast like Tobey.

Wait are they going with the version of Spiderman that builds his own webslinger (rather than being able to naturally shoot webs)? Looks like he's wearing a shooter thingy

The Lizard is in it, or rather Doctor Connors. It remains to be seen just how much of the Lizard will be in the movie. The real villain is most likely a character they are calling Van Atter. If you go back through Spider-Man lore, Van Adder (as it was spelled in the comics) was an employee of OSCORP and was one of the early test subjects for the goblin formula. Things went bad and not only did it affect his mind but it also mutated him, giving him claws, fangs, thick skin that can withstand some bullet fire, and glowing eyes. He was known as the Proto-Goblin. He only appeared in one comic.

This would make sense, since redoing the origin story sort of requires the Goblin as the first villain and they've already done Norman as the Green Goblin. This doesn't make sense, however, in the timeline because the Proto-Goblin came way before Peter Parker was ever Spider-Man. Still, I think they're taking artistic liberties and the Proto-Goblin will be the first real Villain. The first movie will build the relationship between Parker and Connors which will lend itself to a sequel in which Spider-Man finally has to square off against the Lizard to save Doc Connors.

That's pretty much how I imagine them doing it. I'm thinking 'Lizard' will basically be a teaser for the sequel.

First time I saw the trailer, I only saw the first person part. It was not until I saw the rest of it some time later that I realized that this was a movie and not a game. Seriously, there is no reason that that sequence could not have been done in real time. For a movie, I expect more. High polygon counts and large texture sizes are meaningless unless you actually take advantage of that detail. Which they did not.

because the other spider man movies were only one bad joke away from having neon skull faced hooligans wielding glowsticks and nipples on spider mans chostume.

Stan Lee has already been talking about how his cameo is during a fight between Spider-Man and The Lizard so he's definately in it for that.

I hate to say it, but that sums up my entire opinion of this movie so far. If you're going to abandon the one good reason to fully reboot the Spiderman movies, then I have no reason to go see your movie.

-In other words, I dislike it for fanboy reasons.

Yeah already confirmed. Here's a nice video of a poignant speech by Garfield as he reflects on Spider-Man.
