I'm sure wookie is clawing at the computer screen over this... But their new ads are turning into blatant political propaganda. Like on a fox news level.

For every swing, there should be a counter swing they say.

Haha. Just kidding, it's all terrible. So how does CNN lean? Besides "retarded".

They lean more than retarded. I don't think there's a decent televised news source out there at the moment.

That would be epic if there was a anchor man style news anchor fight between fox and msnbc!

I would like to see a fight between all of the anchors from fox, msnbc, and cnn where there just so happened to be a napalm strike. Leave Anderson Cooper out of it, though. He's actually a decent journalist.

I like Brian Williams' poise the best of any anchor, but I wouldn't be able to comment on the quality of his journalism (i.e. the level of objectivity). Cooper seems good, though.

That's because an anchor isn't a journalist. Brian Williams might have been a journalist once, but now he just reads what's put in front of him.

That's not accurate at all when you get to a certain caliber of anchor. Especially considering he's also the managing editor of the Nightly News.

I feel the same way. It appears to me that televised news, especially in the U.S., has become more about entertainment & less about news.
? :)

Also, his face is crooked or something.

It makes me laugh when they make derogatory comments about tabloids. It's ****ing irony at its finest.

I like some stuff that comes out of CNN's religion blog: http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/

I
don't want MSNBC, because I find Hardball intolerable. Maddow's better, but she still tends to spin some things (of course, that's what pundits seem to do these days, anyway). What are some examples of their "lean forward" campaign?

In the US at least. I find myself using outside sources like BBC and Al Jazeera more and more for my news.

Canada has it's own fox news lite now,sun news.

Any links to this ad campaign? I quite literally never watch MSNBC.

Know what... I am actually having a surprisingly hard time finding any of these ad's online. There was one on either the NatGeo Chanel or discovery with Rachel maddow going off about how private companies will always be too greedy to invest in projects like building bridges and roads so we really need to understand the benefit of a big government.
Then there was another on MTV that was basically saying how awesome Obama is because he came from a mixed background and was active in his community and such. Really feels like left wing political ad's more than anything to do with news.

That's because it's MSNBC. It's the left wing version of Fox News. They were too much for even Keith Olbermann.

Did either of you try the most obvious place to find the ads?

Seems like a lot of posturing and lip service to the greatness of America. I just wish it wasn't coming from a purported news network.
