As in, I sat around with a face like that doing nothing except occasionally converting textures. Ain't that a Twix!

Lunch on Saturday at a nice brasserie that used iPad menus with my wife, daughter & father-in-law (they had a Darth Vader dessert), drinks at the restaurant where my wife works with friends (this is really nice when it's closed to customers), dinner with said friends at an Italian restaurant (a family-owned place with actual Italians & one of them was quite the singer) & then more drinks (& other) at our apartment (3 couples crowded on to our balcony that's really only suitable for 2-3 people). Lunch & dinner on Sunday at my grandmother-in-law's (she's quite the cook). My wife doesn't work on Monday's so we're still enjoying our weekend. She ran around looking at apartments today while I spent some quality time with the daughter. We're giving the baby her last meal & I'll be cooking up something nice for the 2 of us so that we can enjoy a quiet, candlelit meal, overlooking Paris (we can see Notre Dame from our balcony).
? :)

On Saturday, I worked and more or less went to sleep.

On Sunday, I mostly loafed around, it being my only day off the week lately from mostly 12 hours shifts.

Friday my girlfriend and I drove up to Duluth to spend a weekend away from work / everything / everyone. Spent four days with no particular direction, schedule, or plan. It was awesome. Went sightseeing around the shore of Lake Superior, ate lots of good food, looked at lots of cool shops, checked out the aquarium and zoo, rode some 'thrill' rides a little south, and spent the remaining hours of each night having sex and sleeping. I'm upset I have to go back to the office tomorrow.

Also, for any of you who might perchance visit Duluth, MN. Don't stay at the Radisson Harborview. It sucks.

I was in Traverse City, Grayling, Detroit. All too brief, and too family-filled for Massassi Meetups but y'know.

COUCHMAN IS BACK BABY

Went to Lake Tahoe. Swam, played volleyball, cooked dinner over an open fire, went to some crappy casinos over in Nevada, walked back in the middle of the night and saw raccoons for the first time (they're a lot bigger and more aggressive than I thought). Had a late start on Sunday then hiked into the mountains for a bit.

As a bit of a nature nerd, one of the best bits was coming across one of the pine chafers - Polyphylla decemlineata

(not my pic but check out those lamellate antennae!)

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm in the bay area (staying in friendly Oakland) until the end of the month if anyone wants to meet a Britassian without the price of an airfare.

Watched Taxi Driver for the first time... Was all right. Sunday was squash / mega burger / alcohol / casino (because FREE DRINKS AND SANDWITCHES, mostly, so lots and lots and lots and lots of more alcohol) / sleep. Some running. It was good, but I think that it could've been more productive. Thanks for asking, though. :)

I'm going to start running as well (with my brother-in-law). Back home in Kentucky I used to do a lot of hiking (25+ MPW) & that was enough to keep me in decent enough shape. However, since moving to a city without many hills (with the exception of Montmartre), I'm afraid that the walking I do (which is quite a bit) isn't nearly as productive. The last time that I attempted a run was a disaster, probably due to the effect of years of smoking, but I've kicked that habit & am eager to give it another shot. To keep it a bit more competitive I think I'm going to utilize the RunKeeper application on my iPhone to compare with friends of mine that use it back in the states.
