Anybody own the Seinfeld DVDs?

I have season 7 here and it's unwatchable. The canned laughter and the transition music is SO much louder than the dialogue. I put the volume such that I can hear the dialogue and the bassy transition music blasts out my living room.

Anybody hear of this or experience it? Very disappointing.

I have the set from Amazon.com, didn't notice anything like that the last time I played those discs (not to mention on the *coughdvdripscough* on my computer). Then again use headphones for 99% of the time anyway.

I own the first two seasons, still in the cellophane. I've never actually watched Seinfeld.
nope.

I love Seinfeld...but Curb Your Enthusiasm destroys it, CYE makes me unappreciate Seinfeld to a shameful level because they are both good shows and both deserve recognition, its just that CYE is that much better in my opinion

Man I couldn't get into CYE but I guess I didn't watch it enough. Grew up watching Seinfeld I love it, I'll ask my dad about the DVDs he owns them.

I never found Seinfeld anything more than mildly amusing. Curb Your Enthusiasm, however, is probably my favourite sitcom.

Seinfeld is one of my definite favorite sitcoms of all time, right after Scrubs and Arrested Development. Maybe I'll get to Curb at some point.

If you love Seinfeld, Curb should be more than a priority

Yes.

Curb was pretty much made for the people who loved Seinfeld, weren't ready for it to end, and want more - lots more. It's actually funnier IMO.

Yeah, my priorities are warped :P

Curb has been on my "hey watch this" list since 2007, tho'

Yeah Curb is pretty damned funny. The various cameos are amazing too.

My favorite episode has to be the one where Larry refuses to get out of the back seat of Ben Stiller's car, and Stiller is all pissed because he doesn't want to look like he's Larry's driver.

A recent one from the last week or two, Mr Softie or something like that, made me laugh pretty good.

Dash_render: Did you make sure it's not a surround sound issue? I don't know why Seinfeld would be in 5.1, but if it is, much of the dialog might be coming out of the center channel. With incorrect configuration (such as having it set to stereo) would mean you don't even hear that center channel.

I love CYE but every so often there's something just a little too cringeworthy for me.
nope.
