I was reading the Ars Technica review of iOS5, and it's a big update indeed. However, there's a lot of little gotchas for many of the features:
1. "Geofence" reminders. As I figured, the accuracy on this can be pretty awful at times AND you can only set it up around your current location or a contact's address, defeating the purpose.
2. iMessage is limited to iOS devices only. And sending a message to a person's number will not go to, say, their iPad. Not that I'd use it regardless.
3. The iCloud photo sync is basically useless. Holds only 1000 latest photos, and you CANNOT DELETE INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS. Took a crappy pic? Too bad, it's in the cloud. Sending a photo of your naughty bits to your girlfriend? Bam, it's in the cloud. Only way to delete the photos is to completely turn off Photo Sync for ALL your devices on that account. Something that I highly encourage everyone to do.
4. It gives the "automatic downloads" feature for apps and music, which is a cute idea but actually can be devastatingly bad for your device disk space. I already am sick and tired of fighting with iTunes on my laptop to stop downloading all the unnecessary crap that came with Doctor Who. Why would I want that crap on my iPad's even more limited space? (More importantly, why the hell doesn't iTunes give you the option to only download the HD episodes, and not SD/Special Features?).
