MB and I are participating in Startup Weekend New York City. We and our team are basically starting a company over the course of a weekend.

There's a quick, 4 question survey we were hoping you guys could fill out to see if people actually want what we're making.

Survey is here --> http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MR5FDJY

Thanks! This is an awesome event, and an awesome experience.

'Tis what I did.

Besides the fact that I absolutely would never welcome a bunch of goddamn poll spam, political polls themselves are probably one of the biggest wastes of money ever. All political polls do is change what politicians say to get elected. It's a big waste of time, and they'd have to do a HELL of a lot of convincing for me to think otherwise.

No offense to you guys for trying something like this, but there's no way you'd get me to do that stuff without a fat wad of cash in my hand.

That last question is the real kicker, by the way. "If you knew" is a hell of a promise. How would you inform? If the politician hasn't been elected yet, that's like promising the future actions of a person under a completely non-contractual situation. That's why I said no to that. Because I can't think of any way you could convince me, at least in the short term.

does anyone else think it weird that the poll is polling us on whether or not we would do polls?
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Oh, you and MB will be in NYC? Shall I come to visit?

Are you making an app for political polling? Because if you are, I think I might need a word with you two guys...

That, pretty much. I feel a little trollisch answering all 'no' on a survey, but this time it's the only answer I can fathom giving. :-/

Not to sound like a grammar Nazi or anything, but that should really read "mb and me. " You can tell because when you take out mb, it doesn't make sense.

This is the only reason I clicked this thread.

But I filled out the survey anyway.

Have you heard of YouGov (formerly Polling Point)? They do pretty much exactly what your survey is suggesting. I have literally hundreds of unread emails linking me to political/consumer polls. I used to do them all the time because you earned points for each survey and there's stuff you can trade in your points for, but I stopped doing them a while ago. I never unsubscribed though... 'cause who knows? Someday I may really want that iPod shuffle.
