oh **** ok i'm on it
2011-12-28, 6:07 PM #42
I've gone an entire day, full of ****ing about with messages and music, without touching anything other then the home button. Siri is a work of art.

I had several gifts from my family. They include:
  • new table
  • new shirt
  • bluetooth caller id watch
  • toaster oven
  • The Great American Ale Trail by Christian DeBenedetti
  • Beer: A Genuine Collection of Cans by Dan Becker and Lance Wilson
  • money
Overall, not bad, if I do say so. Getting beer books at Christmas is becoming a tradition now. This is the second or third year of getting them, and they're probably one of the most enjoyable presents.

are you an alcoholic?
COUCHMAN IS BACK BABY

Hmm, alcoholics traditionally don't read about beer varieties.
There's only the 3 categories for them.

Drink in my hand (and about to be drunk)
Drink in the fridge (will get to that soon)
Your drink (until you turn your back)
You can't judge a book by it's file size

My family mostly exchanges food, since we aren't big on stuff.
I got:
a pair of cozy socks (yay)
bottle of ginger soy sauce
grapefruit candies
raspberry candies (the ones with the candy pips on the outside)
shortbread
genmacha tea
ginger black tea
pomegranate vinegar
ghost pepper chili sauce
and a CROCKPOT (one one one! Stewed up some apples, mushrooms, 'n lamb shanks in red wine over the weekend. Nom!)
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

"Work of art" more like "bought out a company to compete with Google's service". Even then it's not as accurate or well integrated (can't be used with third party apps being the lulz-typical problem).

Ghost pepper ftw!

A wing place here has them. God damn it's hot.

After the holiday stuff dwindled out, I ended up having The Ship, Sonic Generations, Portal 2, and a couple other assorted things and DLCs

New Mouse & Keyboard. (Razer DeathAdder and Lycosa, respectively)
Aperture Science Shower Curtain
Black Mesa Coffee Mug
Star Wars Poster (original 1970s one)
Wireless Headphones for the TV
Zerg Race Icon T-Shirt
A couch to be purchased later.

Okay, you spent an entire day using your phone without having to touch it. But the real question is could you have gotten all that done in an hour otherwise?

You don't get it, dud. Tibby is an iOS fanboy now, because his ****ty old phone was ****ty and old, yet he blames it on the fact that it ran Android.

It never got a single update, for 2 years.
That's a pretty bad thing no matter how you spin it.
Also using Siri is a hell of a lot faster then otherwise, dictating notes, asking it stupid things like the GDP of australia, and making calls owns.

You bought a **** phone. You did the equivalent of buying an iPhone 2G when the iPhone 4 just came out. Do you see it getting updates? Hell no. Android's been doing that Siri crap for over a year now, and it doesn't blow at it either.
2012-01-02, 4:05 PM #62
If you knew how to use an android phone you wouldn't have to wait for your carrier to push updates - you could do it yourself.

I made a boeuf bourguignon in that new cocotte a few nights ago that'd make any human ejaculate.

If you're one of those people who stand out by a door yelling at their phone to be cool, I hope you get shot in the face.

Scratch that, I just hope you get shot in the face.

That seems to be a theme around here.

See, Tibby, something most people don't realize is Alan is actually more unpredictable and bizarre than FGR is. Anyone who frequents the chat can vouch for me on this.

that's cuz FGR crafts it, and Alan is just riding the winds of mental turmoil

Speaking of HDTVs used as monitors, anyone know how to set it up so that multiple displays end up with multiple wallpapers?

-I got a pic that works well for both, but I'd rather have the freedom to go akimbo, as it were.
