Massassi Presidential Straw Poll

I know most of you hate Ron Paul. You're quite passionate about it. But, we haven't actually discussed any other candidate. Who would you actually vote for? Multiple choice poll. I included party affiliations and Gary Johnson's full name because many of you won't know who he is; he's the most likely candidate for the Libertarian party nomination.

It's extremely likely that I'm going to vote for Obama again.

Also, I was thinking about making a poll like this earlier today. Good post.

I know I'm from the UK so I can't vote....but damn the republican candidates scare the crap outta me, I can't honestly understand how any civilised country could even consider letting them represent you at any political level, let alone run the damn country.

So yeah, I think anyone outside the US will agree with me here, please please vote Obama in again.

I would vote for either Barrack Obama or Ron Paul for the very same reason. I don't think they're either bad people, or effective enough for their most extreme ideals to become policy. The difference is that I think the world would be a better place if Obama was right about people, and would hate it if the most extreme parts of libertarianism were a reality. This means that I'll probably be voting for Obama, but I genuinely just don't know. I don't like voting for people who I don't believe will actually do anything substantial, and the only reason I pick Obama is because his type of ineffectual is the least damaging. I think there are probably more qualified people that understand our economy better, and would not see things in black and white, party-influenced talking points. I imagine someone out there would actually like to try to improve things with tested methodology. I suppose that's the issue though, isn't it? Who's idea of improvement do we go by?

i dont much care at this point. there is going to eventually be an overwhelming wave of debt that will simply be unsustainable and no one, regardless of political affiliation is going to be willing to fix that.
so from here on im going to vote for the candidate that will be the most fun in the short run.

...and unfortunately that looks like its going to be obama.

I really want to vote for Gary Johnson, but I'll probably end up voting for Obama. It might be that I'm from NM, but I think Gary Johnson is the best choice out of all of them...but I also know he really has no chance. :( On that note, I was really surprised to see him on this poll!

It's all nice and all to talk about who's voting for who and have a poll so we can have pretty bar graphs...

But how many of you are in a state where your vote actually matters?

I live in Arizona. We're voting for the white guy.

At this point I would probably vote for Ron Paul because even though I am very iffy on a lot of his more extreme ideas, I also think those are the ones that he would have a snowball's chance in hell of doing anything about. To be honest though, I have not been doing my research yet on any of the current candidates so my vote doesn't mean much at this point.

I am curious to see what my state does, though. Oklahoma hates Obama, but we also don't look too kindly on "cultists" (Mormons, to us reasonable people). Unfortunately I bet supercrazyconservative Santorum is probably pretty popular here.

If I vote, it won't be for anyone on this particular poll. However, if I was forced to choose between only the above candidates, I'd go with Obama, only because I think he'd do less harm than the others.
? :)

I will always vote for my buddy Reagan. In my heart.

I expect I'll vote for Obama. Romney's just as bad as he was four years ago, he's just being compared to worse people.

It doesn't matter for the rest of us, either.

So no worries, all right? :)

Interesting that they think someone at ABC/Whatever signing it means that the whole company saw the letter, and not just the lackey who reads it, goes "mm, crackpot mail" and throws it away.

Also, the Ron Paul campaign not only doesn't endorse 'Watchthevote2012', but prior to the Iowa caucus released a statement telling their supporters to stop trying to invade the counting system. There's a little conspiracy theory going around that the guy who runs it, who happens to be a Hitler apologist, is doing it so later on he can use it to discredit Ron Paul.

(Note: The following is not from Paul's actual campaign and may even be a ploy to make him look bad. It is, however, preposterous and laugh-out-loud funny.)
