How 2 Read Teh Bookzorz
(TRUE STORY!)

I decided to choose which books to buy with a pair of dice colored red and green. It's pretty sweet, really. Take an MS Excel spreadsheet (if you don't have access to Excel, take an Open Office spreadsheet). Insert four columns and six rows into the document. Try to think of each row like a bullet sliding into the cylinder of a four barreled revolver that self-conscious Gunmen see in their darkest nightmares. Red bullets are for fiction. The greens are for everything else. You throw the dice and Voila! Like Wesley Willis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_Willis) could have said, "EA: Sports to The Game!"

RUDIMENTARY RULEZ:

1. This does not mean you can't buy other books if you have zie monies. But books on the list are a priority.
2. Every time the dice choose your books, note their titles and replace with different ones for the coming dice throw.
3. You can only throw dice after you've read both books. :D

I download nearly every book that I read & I do so via my iPad. I do have a simple rule that I follow though; for every book of fiction that I read, I must then read a non-fiction book. This works out very well & often there's something within one book that gets me interested in another book.
? :)

Ditto. Also, I'm going to turn this into a "what are you reading right now?" thread, because I'm mean.

I'm currently reading:
Critical Play: Radical Game Design
Gamestorming: A Playbook for Innovators, Rulebreakers, and Changemakers

Don't have an iPad, but I also listen to fiction Podcasts mp3s on my brand new Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro (teh luv) when I'm walking somewhere / waiting for the bus / on the bus / etc. :) It's pretty neat.

Ha, yeah, the title sucks, but so far, it's a pretty decent how-to for general team-based creative problem solving. Nothing crazy, but should be useful in the relevant situations.

My current plan is to somehow simultaneously finish reading Infinite Jest and In Cold Blood. I've already used my Kindle (thanks Mom!) to read Moneyball and the Hunger Games trilogy while in the middle of reading the other two. Once I'm done with those I'm thinking about finally reading The Hidden Game of Football.

Oh, I guess I started The Lincoln Lawyer somewhere in there as well, but I'll probably have to wait until I finish some of these others and then start it again from the beginning.

After three years of law school, I'm having trouble getting the hang of 1) reading for pleasure and 2) not reading a dozen books at once.

Ford, I don't actually have a Kindle. But I have a Kindle app on my droid smartphone. Works just as well.. I very OCCASIONALLY notice a bit of eye strain, but for the most part, I'm totally happy with this solution. Plus I don't have to lug around a big ass Kindle.

I haven't read the The Hunger Games, but I've read Battle Royale. The way I understand it, The Hunger Games is an unintended Western style rip-off, can anyone confirm?

Eh, they share a basic one-line description (despotic government forces kids to fight to the death), but not that much else.
