Seriously folks, all you do is make more work for me, because then I not only have to delete the spam, I have to go back and delete YOUR posts to get rid of the necro-threads. It's not funny or witty, and 99% of the time, your posts will never be seen in the first place, so stop it.

But, CM, sometimes those spam posts are the only activity on the forum for days. Do you really mean to rob us of that chance to participate in active discussions?

Another place I post at (MechWarrior 4 site) has some kind of a bot-pit setup where the first post anyone makes goes into a 'greetings' forum, which is the only forum new users can see when logged in (although can see normal forums when not logged in). If they turn out to be human they're allowed out, if they're selling air jordans they stay in there. There may be more to it than that, but that's my vague understanding of the process.
