Once more, I am in no way affiliated with this game, but since the last time I made a thread about this game, they've added an orbital map, multi-threading support, and, well, not much, you know, other than a frickin' MOON. It's still sandbox style gameplay, e.g. there are no funds, no goals, no penalties, it's purely a miniature Earth-Moon-Sun simulation, but in a few weeks they will be introducing persistence. Which means you can save your flights and have multiple, controllable craft in orbit around the planet, the moon, or the star.

The downside is, the core game only comes with a few parts, it's enough to do everything, just not with style. The up-side is, the development crew is encouraging mods and parts, and are easily installed by just placing the parts in the, you guessed it, "parts" folder.

...I...I don't think this is exactly necrothreading, more like beating a dead horse, but I wanted to share a pretty neat update Squad (the crew behind this game) announced a few hours ago.

The next update (that will be the first paid release) includes a new parts loading system that will allow the modding community to program their own parts.

Some members of the forums have managed to do some pretty crazy things with their parts packs so far, so I personally can't wait to see what some of them do in about 3 weeks.
