In other news, Audible.com recently had (they might still have it, actually) a promotion where you could sign up and download one book for free. I downloaded Harlan Ellison's Deathbird... However, considering the effort it took me to get it working in .mp3, I chose not to continue my subscription. Awesome book, though. Yesterday listened to Crocotoan before going to sleep, was properly impressed / freaked out.

Another story preceding that one on the recording is Reach for the Stars, a novella he wrote when he was 22. I wish I had 1 third of the man's skill / talent at 25 that he had at 22. Amazing writer, folks, simply amazing.

Man, Audible has been advertising so hard these last few months, if I could actually get one free audiobook for each of the different 'one free audiobook' offers I've heard on various podcasts, websites, etc., I'd be rolling in 'em right now. Ah well, I'm happy with my one.
