Hi guys!

So I have this idea for a story where after a nuclear apocalypse in nuclear winter Scandinavia they find this guy with no memories of who he is. After a while, it's revealed that he's one of the 6 clones who were trained in martial arts, strategy, leadership, etc. before the war as humanity's last effort, and then conserved in cryostasis until the pod finally opens after the apocalypse and it's his and his "brothers" task to rebuild the world. The main antogonist is a different clone from the same cryostasis pod thingie.

Originally the story was an outline for PARPG that they've rejected if anyone's interested, btw:

[/URL]A friend of mine told me that the VG Rage has a very similar story. I haven't played it and probably won't as apparently it doesn't work well with ATI cards, so, if you've played it, can you please confirm / tell me if my story idea sounds like a blatant rip-off? I'll still write it as it's all about execution I think (and I think it's a cool idea and setting), but am just curious.

Thanks! Cheers!

Rage runs great on my 6870. I haven't finished the game, but I don't think it has much more in common than the apocalypse/stasis bit.

The story in rage is that an apocalypse device makes the world deteriorate wherever you aren't looking. The only way to defeat it is to constantly spin in circles.

Koobie, yes, that's essentially the plot of Rage.

Really? So these guys in the pod are genetically modified clones designed to rebuild the world and MC has a confrontation w/ brother clone? Sucks if that's the case. :) Also, perhaps I should have used the word premise instead of plot. EDIT: checked on Wiki, and yeah, the premise does seem similar. Nothing new under the sun...

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the Sun.

Including that sentence. And that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one

It's basically a Rip Van Winkle type story, which films like Demolition Man and Idiocracy share themes of. In my opinion it's sort of a used up story mechanic. Though it's still being used a lot. From my understanding Halo4 will use it as well.
My blawgh.
