Good read,

I am curious, is it random, or how do copyright holders select those they want to sue.

I've downloaded five different classical composers entire discography + more random CDs

Who would sue me? Those people are long dead?

the people who hold the copyrights on the recordings of those works would sue

this. the person who wrote the piece of music being long dead simply means the music can be performed/recorded/sold by anyone without having to get permission but the recordings of these performances are copyrighted...
