I made got a 1&1 Domain because I figured it was just a too good a deal to pass up, so even though I didn't think I'd need the domain, I got it. I ended up figuring I could use it for making a band website. No regrets yet... except the site looks kind of ugly, and I can't update the pages on my G4 (Its fine though, I just have to use my dad's computer)

Anyway, check it out:

If you could do me a favor, and give me some opinions on the tunes, that'd be great. I'd recommend (in order of most essential to least): Watching the Clouds, Things We Said Today, Lawbreaker, Tired, Something and Compass. The others aren't very good, and are there for novelty for more than anything else.

Thanks for opinions in advance, and don't be afraid to be honest. (Just a note: I care a LOT more about comments on the music than on the webpage).

Someone's guitar moves in and out of time. I'm no singer, but it sounds like you aren't giving enough support when you sing (noticed this in the Beatles song), so your intonation is off.

Neato website, though.

Shut up. I'm GOING to do this whether you like it or not.

What song was it moving in and out of time?

What do you mean by 'more support'? more collaboration between the instrument and the vocal, or the sing more from the diaphragym (woah, sp)

Thankee.

I just listened to Lawbreaker, and the guitarist has a habbit of racing through a couple of riffs. And then he slows down in the middle.

Definitely sing more from your chest and less from your throat, if you want I can see if I still have my vocal exercise tab things to be done with a guitar to help with intonation. But you guys are decent songwriters, but here's my critique of the songs I listened to:

Watching the Clouds:
Has really laid back chord progression and everything works, except the melody could use some tweaking just to make it an awesome song instead of just a decent one. It's also very long without much interesting going on until the guitar solo starts, use dynamics to change the mood of the song a bit and make it more interesting. Also, singer in and out with the pitches, he would have a decent voice if he could hit the pitches and I think most of it comes from not enough breath support/maybe a lack of confidence, I used to have the same problems.

Things We Said Today: Guitar/Vocal levels sound good, guitar could use a bit more treble in the mix but I'm assuming you just used one mic so you might not've been able to help it. Your voice sounds a lot better than the other guy's, the only thing is you go flat A LOT until you get to the loud chorus parts, then it's fine, like I said, breath support and pitch recognition would help a lot but it sounds good. Some of your pronunciation sounds harsh, I dont know if it's supposed to be like that but it doesnt sound like it really fits the song.

Lawbreaker: Was this one supposed to sound... bad? The guitarist is off time and it just sounds sloppy. If it was done intentionally.... I still wouldnt recommend that because it sounds like he's trying and not making it. And there's no bass at all in the song, you can only hear lead. Not a big fan. As an instrumental song, it is weak in all aspects.

Something: You cant really hear the voice, but the guitar sounds good for the equipment you've got. There's a weird stop in the middle of the song in several places. Gain more confidence with the vocals and it'll sound better because you're all over the place with pitch and there's not really an established melody, or at least it's not readily apparent.

Compass: My first thought was... 10 minutes? I didnt listen to all of it because I have to leave in a hurry but I wanted a sample of it, but the singing is awful, I know he's making it up on the spot and it's just practice but... ya. The lead guitar work is ok, needs a bit more gain or reverb so it has more sustain. I can hear the bass and it is nice. Drums very simple. Work on this song some, add some tempo changes and it'll be cool.

That's my overall take. You guys have some things to work on, but dont let my criticism discourage you guys, you have enough talent to make it worth your time, and I'm no expert just an ear. Let me know when you guys have some new songs up and stuff and if you ever need advice on vocals and stuff or anything just email me or get me on AIM and I'd be happy to talk about it.

OH, and where are you guys from? You should probably put that on your site!

its not at all discouraging. Infact, its the most helpful criticism we've come across, as friends and parents almost always sugar-coat things. Thanks you kindly.

Hmm, what's your AIM?
