monitor arms

So I'm looking at getting a monitor arm for my desk at home. Why? Well, with my current seating set-up, attempting to remain eye level with my monitor, and my freakishly tall nature, this is what I currently got going:

As you can see, I have a bunch of books totaling about 10" high raising my approx. 23" widescreen monitor up. Every night, I still like to use my computer, but from my bed, which is to the right of that image, so I move it off the books, forward, and turn the monitor to face right.

The top of the desk that forms the lip is about 1/2" to 3/8th" high (keep in mind these measurements are very approximate since I don't feel like getting a ruler right now) and right now, I have the desk as up against the wall as I can make it, which is what I'd like to keep as much as I can. You can see it here:

Please offer any advice you may have on purchasing a monitor arm. If it matters, I would like to keep my options open for a potential second monitor, though that is low on my priorities at the moment.

So nothing from you tech-savvy folk? I would have figured one of you would have had one of these things. Not even a "you got some weird books there" or "you're freakishly tall, Geb" or some other random comment? :(

That's what I'll most likely end up doing anyway, and I had hoped at least one person here had personal experience with using one and could say "get this brand!" or "avoid this stuff."

I've heard good things about the build quality of their iPad stands, so it wouldn't surprise me if their monitor arms are good too.

I have to admit I was considering doing something similar, except with monitor lizards.

FGR: Haha! Nice.

Detty: Thanks!

Darth Alran: Apart from the two positions I've described, I'm not terribly concerned how many positions I can pose it in. Still, now I imagine an action figure with monitor arms attached...like FGR's image. >.>
