Nintendo's Dilemma
2012-06-08, 5:33 PM #1
So, I'm on a 2 month break from work (I'm a teacher and it's summer vacation). I've been doing a lot of writing. After seeing Nintendo's press conference at E3 and being burned so bad by the Wii, I started thinking about where Nintendo as a business is at with the launch of the Wii U on the horizon. I published an article on the subject here, if you guys are interested in checking it out.

Am I way off base, or do you agree with me?

I dont think anyone agreed............

lololol.

Actuallly i was going to respond, but i didnt even care enough about nintendo at all to see( or even read about later) their press conference.

Having no frame of reference i opted to stfu until i did some research and had valid points to bring up.

I can only assume that everyone else here acted accordingly. you see so well versed in this particular situation that it seems prudent to disagree with an expert. That and, most likely like myself, noone cared enough.

I grew up with nintendo. Ive had (still have) every system they have put out since original Nintendo, its sad to see them producing ****.

The newest zelda was pretty cool tho :)

Call me crazy, but the article doesn't seem to say much, just poses a bunch of (in my opinion, obvious) questions. So I'm not sure if I agree with an article that doesn't seem to take a stance. Unless your stance is "Nintendo is in a dangerous position"... which isn't really much of a stance. It's a statement of fact.

Ah, missed the subtext. I only brought it up because I had this discussion with my roommate and his brother not too long ago and his brother thought it was 2007.

Anyway, Nintendo never had the same handle on the market since the N64, and they've been doing fine anyway. I don't think the WiiU is in any 'dilemma' that it hasn't already been in as a whole for the company. I just hope more developers actually try to be inventive with the potential control schemes this time, and I realize that may be asking for a bit much.

It doesn't help that they basically lied about the original Wiimote. The Wiimote+ attachment is what the original Wiimote was thought to be.

It's also not good that 90% of the games made for it are shovelware.
