Are y'all excited?

I am definitely going to be hitting up TF2 once the update comes out. Only a few more hours.....

TF2? Absolutely. Diablo 3? Not terribly.

I'll need to try the new TF2 gamemode, but I have this awful feeling it will be a clone of Monday Night Combat / Super Monday Night Combat.

Isn't it more of a clone of zombie mode of COD?

Will they ever do a Hunted mode or would that fail due to idiot players?

Is Hunted mode the one where you escort civilians? I used to like that in TFC.

Yeah. But someone plays the civilian. Of course, if some dumbass was the civilian, games tended to be sessions of frustration. Otherwise it would be intense gameplay.

But I'm sure there could be a system to minimalize that issue. TF2 even has an unused civilian class.

The Hunted game mode was my FAVORITE. Wish that would be implemented.

They already slowed them down a bit and made them run less in a previous patch. Also, at least as far as the Wizard spells, some have been adjusted to make battling fast-moving mobs easier.

Yeah, you're better off searching for servers playing the maps manually.

Although to be honest, it's not worth the time anyway. 6 player maximum and the missions end after only 7 waves. Basically, by the time it starts to feel actually challenging, it's already over and you lose your upgrades. So it gets boring fast.

The only REAL challenge in the entire thing is the boss scout, since he carries the bomb faster than every other class and has thousands of HP. Basically, you have to set up defenses at the bomb drop point since it's the only time you can get a good steady shot on it. Everything else is a breeze, especially if your team has even a modicum of knowledge about TF2.

Yeah, they seriously underestimated the demand. Wait times suggested 30 minutes minimum for me yesterday.

There were plenty of pub servers hosting mvm matches but the 6 player limit made it hard to get involved. The only one I managed to squeeze on to was only because it had glitched into an unwinnable scenario (invincible giant soldier standing just outside the map).

Well, I installed/tried TF2 again recently. I haven't played the game since the Engineer Update, due to being busy.

My old server that I use to frequent is gone. :( It's so hard to find a good server with people who know how the play ... and one that is also not loaded with annoying/unfair mods or stuck on one map 24/7.

I haven't played it, and I bet I won't anytime soon. Do you think it can evolve into something better? It seems like any new TF2 concept is always a WIP.

It has the potential, but it needs to be set up for more players, and they need to add more content. Primarily, more waves, variety, and challenges. Right now, with only 7 waves, it feels like by the time you get to the end, it's only really getting good. There's a bunch of maps, but they're basically just themes on the same exact gameplay. There's no new challenges in them really, except maybe slightly different spawns or something. The upgrades are nice and fun to experiment with, but by the time you really start maxing out a couple of them, the mission is over. There's like 20 upgrades, and you'll be lucky to max out 4 of them, depending on the costs.

The Sentry Buster is hilarious. I laugh hard when I see it coming from a crowd of smaller robots. I wish it was somehow incorporated in regular mode to flush out campers.
