What do you think of the new jedi order? right now im reading "the unifying force", and i got into thinking that the next Jedi knight should be something to do with the early parts of the Yuuzan Vong invasion.

The new SW books are horrible. I'd never play a game that puts Kyle Katarn against Yuuzan Vong.

here's the deal... It would be an interesting challenge, but it's something much more suited to a mod or user-created SP level than an actualy game or expansion pack... Like Sine once said, Alien Invasions just really aren't Star Wars to me.

obviously none of you have read the new jedi order. I thin it is Luke who says that although the Yuuzan Vong are not part of the Force, a jedi could still lift a Yuuzan Vong, push it with the force, "zap" it with lightning, etc. The only powers you couldnt use would be things like mind trick. Also since ampistaffs can act as a whip, you would have to be wary of it wrapping around your saber (for anyone who doesn't know, amphistaffs cannot be cut by lightsabers). Also you could fight the different creatures like Voxyn.

What they should do is make another first person shooter set during the classic trilogy. Without force powers. I'd rather play that than another FPS set during the New Republic era where you play as a Jedi.

I hope KotOR opens the doors for other games... There's plenty of time before EP4. It goes back at least 5,000 years. At least. There's an unfathomable amount of stuff you can already work with without even making totally new stuff. Side stories, that kind of stuff.

Argh. I hate the whole Yuuzan Vong story line.

I GM a SW:RPG campaign, and I like to set it in the New Republic Era far into the future. (it avoids stupid people trying to kill Luke Skywalker or something. The only characters who are still alive in my campaign are Jaina Solo, her siblings, and Coran Horn). But the source book has only a Yuuzan Vong story line for the New Repubic Era and really leaves little room for anything else. My solution: Ignore it. I told my PCs "The Yuuzan Vong never happened, the don't exist in this timeline." And I was free to set up my own stories.

I agree. The only thing I can see that would work is prequels with Kyle.

I have no issues with creating similar games with different stories and characters, though.
