What do you listen to while you work?

Hello folkses, I've been wondering this lately because I just recently re-discovered an old favorite album of mine, and memories of editing JA came rushing back while I was listening to it. I realized that I listened to a few particular songs so often while I was editing that I came to associate the two things in my mind as though I were a laboratory rat and the music is the bell. The particular song I have associated with editing JA is this song by the Silversun Pickups:

And when I edited Amnesia, I got heavily into techno, particularly Vinter in Hollywood, or Savant as he is now known. This song makes me think of the Amnesia level editor now.

So, what reminds you of your heyday, editing JK? Other games? Any songs you used to blast?
DO NOT WANT.

More often than not, it's Woods of Ypres. Especially this amazing album. Other times it's Blink 182. Or The Division Bell. Sometimes I leave my headphones in with nothing playing since I want some quiet and people tend to leave me alone more if they think I'm listening to something.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I have to listen to something instrumental, hearing people talk will break my focus. When I write I'll listen to Zero 7 or something classical, but doing ECE homework is typically accompanied by Pretty Lights or Glitch Mob.

There's a couple songs that make me think of my dorm room freshman year, since I had a streaming station on a lot and the auto-DJ had a pretty small playlist. But I've never been good at lyrics, artists or song titles, so I couldn't look them up if I tried :P

At home and work I listen to a mix of video game music (orchestral and 8-bit Nintendo, Halo, Mass Effect, OC Remix, and more), Weird Al, the Star Wars soundtracks (all 6 plus IMPS), rock/metal, South Park, plus a lot of strays. At work I've got ear buds in but I keep the volume so low that for me it's white noise and just about everything other than working at my desk can be heard over them.

I listen to my ipod. Mostly deep house- it keeps me going when I'm in the office.

When I'm doing field work, I get to listen to the wind through the trees, the rain as it splashes across the surface of a pond, the gurgle of a babbling stream, and the chirps and whistles of the birds... ;) :)

Don't really want to fill this thread up, so I'll just go with one example. When it comes to (the 2008 version) of TODOA, I forever associate The Dark Knight's soundtrack with editing it rather than the movie itself. Also, I remember making this area while listening to this and due to all the "BURN IN HELL, ADJOINS! HOW DARE YOU WORK AGAINST MY WISHES, 3DO LIGHTING!?!? DIE DIE DIE" memories it invokes I've rechristened it as the 2008 TODOA Editing Anthem.

The only thing I'm allowed to listen to while I work is the sound of other people working.

This. However, I work in a stressful & fast-paced environment so it gets to me quite often & I find myself beatboxing (sort of) & humming songs (my own invention or classical mostly) in order to drown out others & to help me focus on my task without going insane. It's funny because people tend to assume that I'm doing it because I'm in a good mood but in fact I'm usually about 2 seconds away from jamming my chef's knife up their asses & twisting it.
? :)
