Does your phone ever screw up like this?

Yesterday someone texted me around 1:00 but it didn't register on my phone until the evening. Likewise with a phone call + message...nothing under missed calls, no voicemail. I think the only reason they popped up when they did is because I rebooted my phone (I tend to leave it on all the time).

What phone is it out of curiosity?

Regardless, I've seen this happen with just about any cell phone, from ancient Nokias to modern Android/iOS smartphones. It's usually an issue with the tower.

Nokia Lumia 610. I figure it's the phone provider and not the actual phone. The voicemail/call log thing used to happen from time to time with my old phone, but this is the first time I've missed a text. Really annoying.

Generally, non-power users don't reboot their phones enough.

I don't have experience with Windows Phone, but I've seen poorly coded apps in iOS and Android bring the system to a screetching halt.

My wife's phone does that all the time, but it's more of a problem with AT&T in the area but only with text messages. It may be days before she finds out there've been incoming text, and then they'll all hit her phone at the same.

Really, so you should reboot your phone fairly often? I tend to leave it on all the time (I use it as my alarm clock).

It probably depends on how you use your phone. If you rarely install or use 3rd party applications then you could probably go months without an issue. While I was on vacation with family, my mom's Droid Maxx was acting up so I rebooted it then it literally installed 50+ application updates. I don't think she rebooted it for months and at some point it had just stopped checking. I tend to reboot at least once a week.

You actually shouldn't need to reboot your phone often. But if something isn't working right, it's usually a good first step (as with ANY electronic device).
