It's a real shame there aren't any good phones on the market with hardware keyboards. It's gotten to the point that I'm considering buying a Blackberry.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see you guys were talking about RIM and not Nokia.

The n900 hasn't benefited from official development for some time, so the value of the phone is somewhat divorced from the circumstances of manufacturer anyway. I wonder how much longer apt-get will continue to work with (official) repositories, however.

(Actually, from what I can tell, maemo.org doesn't have much to do with nokia anyway. I wonder who owns the domain....)

More people should now fear for their jobs, but this is probably affecting Finland less than some of you (as in Rev. Jones and Triscuit) seem to imagine...ten years ago would have been a different story.

In one article, a supposed insider claimed that, in fact, a great deal of Maemo had been written by (many different) contractors outside of Finland.

This typo is probably more often committed because of muscle memory then because of any genuine confusion about witch one is correct.
