Violence between First Nations protestors and Police in New Brunswick

" The RCMP said at least one shot was fired by someone other than police. that Molotov cocktails have been thrown at police and at least five RCMP vehicles have been destroyed by fire. Police are also investigating suspected explosive devices at the scene,"
[/COLOR] I can't remember violence like this happening in Canada, but I'm a 90s child.
Another group had threatened to block the Edmonton/ Fort McMurray routes in the winter, good luck with that.

Don't ask why this pic is so weird I have no idea.

Also, from what I understand it is pretty unwise to **** with the RCMP. Is this accurate?

yes, rcmp officers aren't really people. most of them are bored and will **** you up just for looking funny, and the rest of them have ptsd and will **** you up just for looking funny. rampant corruption otherwise, too. avoid avoid avoid.

Give the RCMP any tangential excuse and they will **** down your neck.
See: Bringing camouflaged snipers to an unarmed protest.

I know this is awful, but holy **** I would love to see video of a bunch of RCMP Dragoons ruining a crowd of protestors.

Reminds me of jlee's whole "waah why does jonc hate the po-po". It's because jonc lives in canada. Question answered.

Tibby, Edmonton goes through a police chief every, what, two years because of corruption?
2013-10-17, 2:33 PM #12
Boyd lasted four!
The problem is people in Canada think the country is perfect and can do no wrong, so whenever corruption happens they just get glassy eyed.
"No sir, not in Canada!"

I like the sound of that.

Is it true that Canadian money is made out of leaves?

I have some friends there protesting now that are reporting to FB. It's pretty ****ed up seeing the contrast from early photos of the benign groups getting together, and then to see those pictures slowly evolve into the violent reaction. It's totally and absolutely unnecessary. There's older people who are having a hard time standing around still, but they're staying to support their cause.

examples of what actual canadians think about actual canadian apartheid:

"There are legal channels these clowns should be going through but instead they opt to play the race card."
"I just hate how the natives could care less about what is going on, they just want to get in the middle of it."
"How is any of this racist? [robbing families, abducting children, forbidding religion] NO ONE WHO DID THAT IS ALIVE TODAY." (Ed: these programs continued into the 1990s. welp.)

Oh, by the way, those snipers - they aren't RCMP. Those are snipers from the American PMC the oil company hired to put down the browns. No idea why Harper allows them to operate in Harper Canada but I guess he's just too busy to sweat the small stuff! (e.g. maintaining our sovereignty)
2013-10-17, 5:09 PM #18
Jon'C can you source the PMC thing?
I don't doubt it but if I'm going to use it against Harper a source would be good.

no that's just what some internet folks have been saying.
2013-10-17, 5:22 PM #20
but even if false, it's nice to know that a fair number of Canadians think it is plausible that our government is letting foreign oil companies arm themselves against us!
2013-10-17, 5:32 PM #21
And will continue to vote tory, heck most of them probably think it's okay as long as the oil $$$ keep rolling in.
By rolling in, I mean into the CEOs pockets.

tbf they only REALLY went off the rails after the last election.

I forgot one.

"Crown land belongs to the government, not to ****ing indians"
2013-10-18, 2:35 PM #28
oops sorry, an RCMP officer said that. I forgot we already established that they aren't people.
2013-10-18, 2:47 PM #29
oh and just in case someone thinks I'm :tinfoil: about Canada's police being brutal and corrupt tools of an oppressive state corporatist regime:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/rcmp-bombed-oil-site-in-dirty-tricks-campaign-1.188599

back in the 90s the RCMP bombed some oil company installations in order to frame environmentalist critics of the oil industry. and, naturally, the charges stand, even though the Canadian government admits this all happened.

heil harper.

(lol, j/k. harper was still in grad school. canada is just horrible and always will be horrible.)
