Weird trick to earn a couple thousand Amazon Coins
2014-05-26, 5:24 PM #1
So, I always see these videos pop-up describing weird tricks for everything. This isn't one of those. I noticed in the Amazon Appstore an ad that you can get 1000 Amazon Coins if you "purchase" 5 free apps. With the exception of the iHeart app, there isn't anything there I care for but I purchased them all, and even deleted the iHeart app I already had and repurchased just to get the 1000 coins. I accessed the appstore through PC browser for all of this, by the way. So, they also have GTA San Andreas, which isn't even available for my devices, for $6.99 and then earn 2000 coins. I used 699 of the coins I earned for free to purchase the app with a total of 2301 coins remaining with no cost.

So if you use the Amazon Appstore and would like $23 in free coins, there you go.

This seems like it would be a good tip if you use Amazon app store. I don't, so I will instead take this opportunity to internet.

My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out.

I see one for free electricity sometimes. He keeps saying they're going to shut him down. Same guy seems to voice other weird trick schemes. Pretty hilarious.

But, yeah, if you use the appstore and want some coins for premium apps, these offers are up for the next week or so I think. I'm sure they're doing it to get people sucked into in-app purchases.

well, i have to ask, are there any useful apps to make the kindle better at being an ereader? because if not, there's no reason for me to do this

Sure. Just head on over to http://www.mobileread.com/ and grab the program files for this months latest open source {pdf,djvu}-reader. I'm using 'kindlepdfviewer'. With a cheap-o polycarbonate cover from Amazon, my DXg is pretty much as good as any book. Times a thousand, if you measure it in page per gram. No touch screen, but the open source launcher program makes use of the dinky qwerty keyboard to execute* any bash script you need. Sometimes I miss flipping through the pages efficiently, but since pretty much all my books are about math, this isn't much of a problem.

It's also convenient to keep your books in sync with your PC using rsync or whatever since it mounts as a usb drive in linux.

* execute, not type out. I would never use a command prompt on a Kindle keyboard, lol.

and no, the amazon app store will not help you better run homebrew linux programs on your kindle.

Just curious, do you have an e-ink model? Is it a DX, or one with a 9.7" screen? I couldn't stand to read books on anything but a large e-ink screen. Otherwise I'd just use a laptop or grab a real book.

It's a uhh, Kindle Fire HD. What's this Linux OS and why should I use it? Because I don't like messing with firmware if I don't have to, and it wouldn't be fun to have to restore my Kindle or my books

That thing is too small to really read (technical) e-books. From head to toe, the thing seems to be designed for the consumption of streaming video on the Amazon store.

Anyway, all the Fire devices run Android, which means that pretty much all the Linux functionality has been stripped away anyway and replaced with a touchscreen. Thanks, S.J.

Oh, okay. I haven't had a problem using it to read textbook materials but I guess the screen is a tad small
