You mean BSR's model. I certainly never released a textured model of anything.

You're going to love my new mod idea: "SimWait".

You have build and maintain waiting rooms in a variety of business situations.

would be IF someone modelled the "Revan" chick for me and animated the AT-ATs (BSG's model is available on JKHub) so I could have them roaming/shooting/collapsing in the background (after all, you'd once again play as Vader). Hell, even (some of the) premise is available for viewing.

Of course, it WAS NOT MEANT TO BE so put that in your corn flakes.

can i animate the walkers in maya
2014-07-26, 11:44 PM #53
Well, in order for those animations to be converted for JK, Maya needs to support 3DO .KEYframes.

And corn flakes.

MP or SP?

at this point, doesn't it have to be... anything? isn't any restriction at all going to take the potential contributors from like, 6 guys to 3?

Make that 7 guys. I've had The Itch for a while to open JED again and get back to work... I just need to find the time.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Yep. The focus should really be on quantity this time around. Maybe even include every episode that's submitted, regardless of quality, so long as it's finished. The judges could opt to vote things like Yoda's House out of the competition, should the majority vote to do so. There could still be a competition of sorts, but more along the lines of 1st-6th place, or something of that nature.
? :)

I think Massassi is ready for a sequel to Yoda's House.

I'd like to volunteer to judge if we can get this thing underway. I already have JK installed and will play through any submission we get.

How feasible is ZED/JK editing on a 64-bit windows 8.1 machine? I'm scared
2014-08-04, 11:21 PM #61
Also the 3do section on the main page is donked up :C

I've been toying around with JED/ZED on Windows 8.1 & it works just fine. Actually playing/testing levels in JK is another story--you'll be limited to playing in software mode.

I actually think it would be really fun to model and texture stuff using a modern pipeline and then import it into JK as 3DOs, but then I read a tutorial about getting a model from 3DS Max into JK and I wanted to die

JK and its tools are aggressively anti-pipeline.

The source code for Unreal Engine 4 costs $19, folks. Just saying.
2014-08-08, 5:49 PM #69
UE4 is amazing. I think I think about how much better stuff I could have made in JK and JO, knowing what I know how, and get all excited

and then I rediscover how **** the editing tools were + my hopes are dashed

I definitely won't, I won't have enough time to train up real good. What are you into these days? I know some Zbrush, some Maya? I haven't used either. You still use C4D? Any 3dmax?

Mostly Zbrush and Maya! I try to avoid 3DS Max because I really dislike it, Cinema 4D is neat but I haven't used it in ages. If you have any change to spare I've found the tutorials on 3DMotive.com are really good (even though they used my old raptor model without permission in one of them haha)
2014-08-09, 1:57 PM #75
For realsies though--if somebody wants to do a JK/MotS level, I'd be totally down to model/texture 3dos for it as long as I don't have to get them ingame. lmk :>
2014-08-09, 3:12 PM #76
Okay, I've let this simmer for a while and looks like that was a good idea, because it sparked a lot more discussion than usual.

Sometime this weekend I'll script up the next Level Pack rules/etc. I'm not 100% on if I even want to make this a contest, as I don't think there will be too many submissions. I want to allow SP and MP content this time, and I think trying to judge them against each other can be unfair. So instead, what I will probably do, is reserve judging solely for whether something should make it into the pack or not.

How's that sound to everyone?

Sounds a-ok, Coolmarty.

2014-08-10, 1:04 AM #79
Really? I thought the last two contents proved that despite loads of people saying they're gonna make an entry, in the end only a handful will do so. Then again, if it's gonna be a level pack instead of a proper contest, I guess it won't matter as long as there are at least 3 entries.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
