No, not AIDS. Which is probably a good thing.

You're supposed to have a second line of text where you say "Jared Fogle from Subway plead guilty to child pornography charges" and link to a news story or something. otherwise this is just another inscrutable RJ thread where I have to make a guess and then go google around to find out if you're talking about what I think you might be. :eng101:

Well, I was hoping somebody here would vandalize that Wikipedia page soon enough to make things clear without the explanation.

He also contacted 14 underage girls in order to have sex with them. I guess he wanted to make up for all those lost chances from his youth because he was too fat. :/

Jared Fondle (sp?) taught Americans the importance of eating fresh and made a career out of not being fat.

Now what. Now who do we look up to?

Me. Look up to me. I'm the perfect role model for the average American.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

On the topic of exposed raw degeneracy, the recent Ashley Madison situation proves that any online community about sex and fantasy will consist of 90%+ dudes.

Seriously, my mind can't get around the idea that people still fall for the "hot singles in your local area want to F***" type bait, let alone 30 million (or the percentage not bots).

Someday I want to pose as a female on okcupid. A couple of guys have done this, and the result is more or less the same every time: incessant messaging from seemingly normal guys, who then go ape**** and start harassing you with multiple accounts for not matching his advances.

As far as male role-models go, well, there there has been Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, Bill Cosby, and now "Jared from Subway" all demonstrating a lack of restraint. Does being famous in America go to people's heads, or is this normal male behavior?

I had no idea that something like Ashley Madison even existed.

\shakes head in shame. Shaka, when the walls fell!

I would argue that it's not fame, non-famous people do a lot of ****ed up things as well. Fame brings the attention though.

Jared had life on easy-mode, and I don't see how raw, developed talent came in for his success unlike Woods, Lance, Cosby or whatever. He had millions. All he needed to do was not touch children, and he couldn't even do that.

So many foot-long jokes out there right now...
2015-08-19, 8:09 PM #12
Reid, why did you banish yourself, we need to hear the philosophical reason Jared did this.

It was fairly late in life that I found out that 1 in 5 girls in the US are abused as children. I don't know what counts as abuse, but that was much higher than I would have imagined.

All in all, I'm amazed that Subway found someone as bland and spooge-crusted as their sandwiches.

I know there's no rational basis for this, but I think that if I worked for Subway right now, I'd feel dirty giving people sandwiches.

The Ashley Madison thing is my favorite right now because Josh Duggar obv.

Also because it gives me the opportunity to use one of my favorite jokes:

Adultery is a lot like bench pressing 300lbs. Sure, I've never done it, and I probably never will, but I know a few people who would have had a really hard time accomplishing it without me there to help.

Capitalism self selects for people who are eager to abuse others for their own gain so I'm pretty sure that's the problem with all of these famous and successful people, rather than something endemic to men.

We're talking about a person who built a career, not just on not being fat, but on telling people that he's skinny because he eats a lot of sandwiches. He's hurt a lot of other naive people for his own profit, is it really so surprising that he'd diddle some kids?

Speaking of South Park, remember when it wasn't just about "We're Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and here's our political opinion of the day"?

Yes, the very original cartoon short from 1992.

Yeah, I don't like any of the new seasons. The first x seasons make me laugh though, for small values of x.

I'm pretty sure they decided that life was too short to spend working on cartoons, and mentally checked out so they could focus on partying away their earnings even harder. Either that or they got sick of their own show, but didn't want to end it, and shifted out of their element to keep things fresh.

no cash, no jobs, no hope, and no sandwiches with six grams of fat or less
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Any of you guys seen this show called Rick & Morty? I just watched an ep. and the humor is actually fresh and not unclever.

It's one of those "Internet's darling" series, and it stars GOB from Arrested Development, so I bet it's pretty good.
