Installation Instructions:

3. Create a new userscript, paste, save
4. Enjoy Koobie-free threads

Known Issues:

• Thread index metadata is still vulnerable to spam (see attachment)
• Version 0.2 will recalculate the most recent post for each thread in the index to correct this issue

The rules of this thread are as follows:

There's no need to ban Koobie if he agrees to cut out the non-sense. But we can't even have a basis for that conversation until he even admits there is a problem here.

Koobie, I like coming here. I waste a lot of time here. I have important things to be doing and sometimes procrastinate by coming here instead. I have no reason to come here if it's not enjoyable.

There is something to be said for zaniness. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's essential. We all want to break out of the normal vibe now and then and hit people with something unexpected and amazing. The problem is that when you come out of left field with unrelated **** in every single thread, you are making it hard for us to be anything but serious all the time, out of fear that any deviation from the topic at hand will be amplified 10x when you take it as your queue to further derail.

I understand that there is an ignore button. That doesn't take away the anxiety that comes from seeing the green dot next to Koobie's name, with a big green block obscuring more spam.

At this point, either Koobie agrees to cut it out, or I write a browser extension that effectively hellbans Koobie by deleting all DOM elements that have any trace of having been written by him, and distributing it to everybody who wants it.

I've unsubscribed to all threads except this one, and I don't feel like starting any topics of substance out of fear that they'll probably just catch cancer like the rest of this board.

Please ban him. This website is bad now.

As the self-appointed Protecting Power for Koobie on these forums, I'm gonna have to say that quite honestly I like seeing this place being more active once again.

And stepping outside the usual FGR antics and being unquestionably serious for a moment: Brian's way more chill about this kind of behavior (he unbanned Wookie06 as well) than CoolMatty was, so this decision is only up to him.

Brian, even if you aren't willing to consider a ban, will you at least talk to Koobie about the possibility that he voluntarily change his behavior, so that this place becomes more enjoyable for others? I am willing to tolerate a little, but it's really gotten out of hand, to the point that I'd consider just leaving this place for a month or two, and then one day survey the damage from afar to see if Koobie's attack on coherent discussion has gone into remision, or finished the place off altogether.

What I'm talking about: ignoring most of the content of the thread he is posting in, and just steamrolling it with his own unrelated content. See also: spam

Also, when you think about the possible reasons for FGR's defense of Koobie, think for a moment where we've seen this before!

Finally, while I know it would be disingenuous of me to claim that Koobie himself wouldn't mind a ban, he basically told us that he wouldn't mind it. When he wrote



he really shows how he is acting in bad faith here. There's no apology or justification for the possible reasons Steven might have had for suggesting he be banned, just a smirk.

To his credit, the mod who banned you also voted against unbanning Koobie (just look at the screencap in my post earlier in this thread).

I think Koobie has agreed to stop posting. Maybe you didn't see because you blocked him?

At any rate, if there were moderators who were reading this thread who had the authority to sticky it, maybe the thread wouldn't have been needed in the first place.

He didn't, but I'm going to install the blocker.

If he keeps posting, I'll update it to also fix the thread index. It's annoying to come here and see that the most recent post is by Koobie, because it buries the information of the last *meaningful* post.
