So, Jurassic Park's film narrative poses questions about nature, playing God, and the ethics of resurrecting extinct species.
The sequels don't cover new ground, so, if a sequel cannot expand on the initial concept should the story continue or be preserved as one outing?

I didn't see volcanos in any of the first four movies! Concept... expanded!

Good point. So I guess the expansion of the theme is taking responsibility of the our tampering? Looking back at JP2-3, & JW1 you have this retread with ideas of corporate greed and exploitation. I think the only theme in JP3 is that dinosaurs are scary and rich people suck.

JP1 was about engineering ethics, JP2 was about conservation and exploitation of natural resources, JP3 and JW were about how cool CGI dinosaurs are.

Thanks, George Lucas!

I'll admit, the only thing I remember about JP2 was the merchandise. The "cool kids" on my street had that RV, and I was jealous.

And boy, they sure aren't as cool as they used to be

Also, in the first three JP movies, living dinosaurs defy the expectations we have about them from the fossil record

1. raptors had pack instincts, like birds
2. t-rex had maternal instincts, like mammals
3. dinosaurs could talk

Jurassic Park is a book about how climate change isn't real
2017-12-15, 2:01 PM #53
if things don't escalate how do i know i'm having any fun?

can't wait for the JP5 dinos that are as intelligent as chimpanzees, have chromatophores for camouflage, and whose bodies contain electroplaques which can shut down electronic defense systems.

.'-/ RIP Michael Crichton, he was ahead of his time as a climate science denier.

You would have loved the scrapped Jurassic Park 4 dinosaurs. Human-Dino hybrids!

It was pretty dumb when the big reveal at the end was that they spliced raptor DNA into the newdinosaurus. Seemed pretty clear they'd originally wanted to put in human-dinosaurs/dinosaur humans then walked it back.

Also, Seraph, that last post was technically 1052 words long, which is 1002 words longer than what is allowed in this thread.

I'll be more careful in the future. Though honestly I think the concept art is only worth 300 words. Tops.

Pictures are only worth 1000 words, they are not literally 1000 words. Are we using words, or worth? Because if we’re using worth, then technically Wookie06 would be able to post without limit.

If the subjective notion that a picture is worth 1000 words was universally accepted would it then be objectively true?
