I guess the Trump thread needs a few more "Disarray In The Pretentious Patrol" moments, where one of them demands an apology from the other over whatever, to finally overtake Ruthven's thread.

(Interesting to notice that most of the threads that have 1,000+ posts were started by Jim7 or clan ruthervain)

'member when Stick Cam or whatever however it was called was a bit of a thing here for a minute but, yes, the Trump Dumpster thread should wither on the vine. Only about four people max have read most of it. I mean, seriously, I don't even think it's possible for the handful of people that have posted 90% of it to have read every one of their own posts!

Weird how the non-participants in the Politics Thread keep saying it should die or be closed or something. "Only about four people have read most of it"? Well only about four people post on these forums, and that's where they're posting.

The whole, as someone else described it, "liberal circle jerk" thing (well, maybe they're liberal compared to whoever used that term) doesn't really concern me since these forums have always been kind of a circle-jerking pit... but now I do think that the current Trump thread should be closed and a new one titled, say, "Making America Great Again: Changelog #2" should be started as a sequel.

(Of course, I could just get mb to close the thread so that I could start the new one instead, BUT....)

I guess I don't really care about/for the idea of stepping in to artificially truncate or modify the natural conversation to preserve some weird image of Massassi that was, someone's particular idea of what's most important about these forums (The Camhoez thread being the longest thread???).

Though clearly Massassi isn't even really a shadow of its former self. It's a much smaller, quieter, different thing entirely, just with a few of the same people from before. That's alright tho. We still get to talk about Star Wars movies, reminisce about the heights of JK editing, whatever.

Oh yeah! Amended the list (from the currently visible forums, didn't check the hidden ones) - surprisingly the thread with the most replies turned out not to be in the Discussion Forum. Oddly, the Showcase Forum had no 1,000+ post threads.

Regardless, the Trump thread must die. Or just have a lot longer and more frequent Disarray moments, I want to see who has to apologize to whom next!

FoJ was spammed and abused to the point that it took down the forums a few times. I'd've assumed the longest thread got posted there, although it was probably deleted.

Nikumubeki and Brian, how do you feel about making two new sub-forums? One for politics and religion (this way, the Trump thread can also be broken up into arbitrary numbers of threads, rather than one monolithic one). The other is a Koobie reservation, which anybody may visit, but he is not allowed to leave (I apologize for the offensive analogy).

Or, to be less impolite, split the board into three forums, according to the following rules:

1. A forum where politics and religion are allowed to be discussed.

2. A forum where shameless promotion and spam is allowed (Koobie's writing, Nikumubeki's TODOA posts, etc.).

3. A forum for everything else. Anything resembling the first two posted here will be moved to the appropriate forum.

Actually, how about this. Just bring the religion forum back, and move the Trump thread there. Also move the Elon Musk, school shootings, and all political threads there.

Then, make a sticky thread for promotional posts, and move anything other members see as spam there. Members who have been known to post only spam (Koobie is the only one here) will be restricted to posting here only.
