Well, I've finished my degree

That's right. Geeez, It's been ages since I last posted here - I've been rather busy.

I've just finished my 5 year degree in Product Design Engineering - a course that combines the design and artistic flair of Industrial Design, and also Mechanical engineering. It's a degree I highly recommend... if you want to go insane. This last sememster I probably pulled about 6 all nighters, including 2 in a row right near the end.

Anyway, I'm feeling kinda happy. No more school - forever.

Congratulations!
I've been considering studying Industrial Design if I don't decide to study architecture or something Humanistic instead.

Where did you study?
I've heard that the Art Center in Pasadena or Wolverham are the best places to study design. How many years did it take for you to get your degree (including post-graduate, if any)?
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

I started out in the BS program for Mechanical Engineering here at RIT, but I think I'm just going to go for the AS degree in engineering science, and then get a BS in another area. Not sure what area exactly, maybe CS or Environmental Science.

Daeron - I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and the University is called Swinburne University of technology. It's actually the only uni in australia that offers the course. As I said, it was a 5 year degree, however 1 year we were out in the industry doing work experience, and getting paid.

Thats exactly what RIT does... 4 years of classes, with 1 year of required work experience mixed in, for 5 years total.

The main reason I'm switching out of engineering after I get my AS degree is the lack of creativity in the field. I took an interests test a few weeks ago, and creativity came up as one of my strong points. I need to be in an area where anything I design isnt so constrained... which is why one of the areas I'm considering is computer game development.

Congraticulations!
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

This is really odd - I finished that degree about 10 months ago, and for some reason someone had it resurrected.

Ok, the thread can officially die now.
