A couple of people who live at my house went back home to Europe for the holidays and they were talking about it for their trips back to the US. Sounds like a pain, but what can you do?

Phew, Australia is in the Visa-waiver program. Thank goodness for all of John Howards bootlicking. Now I can enter the US and wreak havoc all across the mid-west by teaching all the school children to spell colour with a "u"

That is but the first phase of my evil plan. While all America is reeling from the disruption of their spell checkers I will secretly replace all of their savoury spreads and jams with vegiemite. Mwahahaha.

Then while the population attempts to adapt to one of the worlds richest known sources of Vitamin B, I will implement... THE METRIC SYSTEM OF UNITS.

thankfully my trip to japan in '05 won't be hindered since japan is in the visa waiver program ;D

however... going home this summer may be a problem =/

btw, Bovril > Marmite > Vegemite ;D

i thought about this being the anti-sig... or the sig virus... or the sig of your nightmares... but i decided that some painful rhetoric might work instead...

Americans aren't affected by the program. Just people from other countries entering and leaving the US.

I'd like to see other countries do this to US citizens crossing their boarders... the indignant responses by the US gov't would be amusing.

Did I ever tell you that I love u?

------------------
Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here, this was my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true. So I'm takin' it back. I'm takin' 'em all back.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Brazil has. They're going to require Visa from all American citizens who want to enter the country.
Visitors of other nationalities can come and go as they want without visa, though.

I'm just glad I didn't go with MasterCard. Now I truly can say that Visa is where I want to be.

This goes beyond just having to show a visa or a passport. It's basically creating a database with picture and finger prints for any Non-US citizens entering and leaving the US at anytime.

Oh yeah, I remember now.
Well, Brazil is going to "do the same" to US citizens.

You have to place your finger on a scanner, get a quick digital picture, and the wait a few seconds for the clear from the database. A pain in the ***, but I can understand it.
I'm sure it doesn't feel great being checked out like a potential criminal, though.

Right. And a 747 can hold, what, 350 people? So... 350 times 15 seconds is... 1:27:30! You can spend an extra hour and a half standing around for no reason!
