MS attacks OpenSource / Linux...

Kind of another reason I like linux. It's different and therefor a learning experience.
I once asked Emon (or was it LV?) which linux distro would make me swear at my computer. I was bored and had no projects on the go for the next week or so.
There's nothing like that feeling of making it finally work. Although the distro I like most so far has taken that felling away by making it so easy to install and use. :/

Guys, lay off GBK. He saw the thread was getting out of hand so he deleted it, please don't bring it here.

Now, to the thread: I use Windows mainly, but I recently set up a linux machine with mandrake. I love it, for all the reasons Brian, Evad, and GBK have said. I see it as a huge learning experiance, and every time I boot it up I learn something new. It's a free operating system, and it hasn't crashed on me yet. The only issues I have with it are with my actual computer, not with the OS.

So, all in all, I still have my XP box, but Linux has stolen my heart..

I couldn't care less about your opinions on the usefulness and practicality of Linux(although I totally disagree, as I've had plenty of experience with it and realize its benefits and flaws), GBK. That's an opinion and you're free to have it.

Your very imposing attitude is just saddening though. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it quite annoying and unnecessary. I know plenty of people that use Linux both exlusively and unexlusively who don't feel the need to try and force their opinions on to others. You, however, seem to like to jump at every mention of the words "Microsoft" or "Windows" and attack them viciously like it's your purpose in life.

Quite frankly, it's like a religious zealot trying to "save" someone who doesn't believe in what he does and also tries to make himself look superior to others.

Looks to me like you're trying to make yourself look superior to GBK... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif] Lay off already!

Lay off? I don't believe that I've ever made a comment about it before. Just making an observation of behavior that seems to annoy a lot of people.

You know what else is annoying? Hijacking threads about windows/linux and making them into personal debates. Knock it off.
