The Fifth Element

What the... Just saw it. I thought half of it was really cool, the other half just sucked. I can't tell if it's a comedy or not. I can't get over how annoinyg Chris Tucker is. He seems to ruin every movie he is in. Ian Holm is awesome. Umm Zorg was just some hick. I dunno. Very mixed feeling on this movie.

Who did Ian Holm play?

Anyways, I'm convinced that The Fifth Element is satire - it was written and produced by the same guy. As a mockery of basically every single piece of science fiction that came before it, I immensly enjoyed the film.

Ruby Red made me want to burn things, preferrably starting with his face.

Leeloo on the other hand was brilliant. Outstanding movie all things considered..

Good movie. When we were standing in line for our school pictures a few years back we were handed little ID cards, so one of my teachers started to do the moolti-pass thing. Great fun.

The best part was at the opera where the alien sang that awsome song.

I like it. Chris Tucker was annoying, but he's not Jar Jar [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

What was the moolti-pass?

I thought it was a pretty good movie. The city scenes reminded me a bit of Blade Runner. (What I've seen of it, anyway. I keep trying to start it at midnight, and falling asleep.. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif])

I'm fairly sure the movie wasn't a satire; the guy wrote it when he was in year seven, or something.

Decent action flick. Gary Oldman's always pretty fantastic.

It's an important Cyberpunk movie, and contains many of the themes and visuals that you must have to make a good cyberpunk story. But you're right, there are a couple things, Chris Tucker included, that the movie probably could have done without.

That's strange... I thought Chris Tucker's character was funny.

I just can't stand watching it now though, I mean their New York City scenes felt more like Coruscant than it did in TPM and AOTC. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Good movie though, Ruby Rod was only really funny when he'd freak out. Such as trying to fit the guy's head back together after blowing it apart. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

I think my favorite scene though was with the Diva and her performance...well ok that and just about any scene with Leeloo.

Fifth Element is six years old so some people might not get that it's a parody. Bruce Willis sends up his Die Hard movies, Ruby Rhod is a transexual Howard Stern, and Zorg is definitely based on Ross Perot. It's funny when you know who they are.

What's so annoying about a high-pitched transexual drama queen? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] Gotta admit, Ruby has the best lines eg. "I don't want one position. I want ALL positions!" [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I wished they had given Lee Evans a better role. He is very funny in his own shows.

We need some HEAT, man!

Read the reviews, Septic. Gary Oldman has said Zorg was based on Ross Perot, and the other two are obvious.

Take that! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
