My school has this ski club, where every friday people can go snowboarding and skiing and what not. Well I just heard that my best best best best friend is in the hospital. Severe concussion and trauma to the leg. I dunno if he is okay or not. I really don't want to call his parents to find out. He just got a new 400 dollar board for christmas, it was all he really wanted. and some cool goggles and boots. He was very very excited about going. I dunno what will happen if he isn't okay. I just don't want to picture it at all. So I'll update you guys later when I find out more. This is just kind of a shock to me.

Wait a few days and then call them to see how he's doing that way they may be more willing to talk about it.

Call. No harm done in doing that.

It could have been a lot worse. Trauma doesn't suggest a fracture or break, but it's not the lightest of things. And concussion? Obviously you've never played JK in real time. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

[EDIT] Poor choice of words.

Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here, this was my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true. So I'm takin' it back. I'm takin' 'em all back.

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Not sure if he had a helment or not. My guess is no, everyone had big warm hats though :P I think he will live..THINK, but the thing I am worried about is will he be the same? brain damage perhaps? Will he be able to walk the same? We are currently getting the drama club at my school to remake Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this is basically our lives goal :P to remake that film! All we do on the bus is read off the script...drive everyone nuts [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Why the hell don't you call?
2004-01-10, 10:27 AM #10
Because, nobody picks up the phone unless you leave a message. I feel weird leaving a message about this...and his partens are at the hospital I bet.

I snowboarded for years without incident, then one time I was doing a nice slide over top of a berm and I fell somehow, caught me completely off-guard. Landed on my head, felt like I was going to die. Now I wear a helmet any time I'm planning on catching air. Anyway, I just saw a news blurb about how 99% of snowboard helmets are crap and won't help anyway [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]
